Day 39-40 Prayer Journey(40 Days) of Praise and Worship to the Lord-to Life Transformation

DAY 39– April 8 Exalt His Name

40 Day Prayer Journey to Life Transformation

We are continuing to press on in these 40 Days of repentance and prayer to seek the Lord and for true transformation to occur. Jesus has been with us on this journey through ups and downs, struggles to stay on course, to stretch out of our comfort zone and to grow in the Lord.  Let us give Him the praise He deserves. Praise Him and exalt His name.

I hope you have been encouraged to grow in daily meditating on the daily scriptures that apply to a specific focus, fasting and writing in your journal. Even if you made small improvement don’t you give up. It takes discipline and getting out of our comfort zone to look at the “man or woman in the mirror” and to repent. God wants you to seek His face in intimate communion, consultation, and listening. He wants you to intentionally seek His heart and voice in everything that you do. He also wants us to obey His Word.  During these 40 Days you should want and God wants to see transformation in our hearts, mindset and lifestyle. He wants us to grow in the power by the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Scriptures:   Exodus 15:1-2; Psalm 34:1-3; Psalm 99; Philippians 2:5-11

Repent:  Of not magnifying and lifting high the name and person of Jesus Christ; of not participating in praise and worship of the Lord-personally and corporately; of not giving the Lord the honor that is due His name; of_____________________.

Pray:

  • For forgiveness for not praising and honoring God as we should.
  • That the spirit of true praise and worship will break out in the church.
  • That you will faithfully magnify His name and give Him the honor and glory due Him.
  • Praise God that He is the Exalted One; that His name is above every name, and that every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus is Christ is Lord.
  • For assurance of being able to hear as God’s children the voice of the Lord,
  • Intercede that you will find a place to be quiet and sit before the Lord , expecting to hear what He has to speak today.
  • For grace to walk in humble obedience to hear His voice.
  • For ears to hear from the Lord in the way He has chosen to speak to and through His children;
  • That the church will have a deep desire to hear His voice as a corporate

DAY 40– April 9  Seeking to Rise Spiritually  by Worshiping God Together Forever

40 Day Prayer Journey to Life Transformation

This is the last day of the 40 Day Prayer Journey to Life Transformation.  As these 40 days of repentance, fasting and prayer draw to an end, we must make a commitment and set  our minds to press onward to consistently seek the Lord in prayer and worship and to intercede for your city, family , nation and others. Jesus has been with us on this journey through ups and downs, struggles to stay on course, to stretch out of our comfort zone and to grow in the Lord.  Let us give Him the praise He deserves. We must hold fast to the transformation in our lives we have experienced. May we rally together to transform our city with the presence of Christ.

The number 40 is a significant number. In the Bible 40 is a specific time period associated with a period of testing, trial, probation or chastisement. “The number 40 is a indication that God is ready to birth something new out of pain or challenge”. Kingdom Principles for Everyday Living by Stewart Perrilliat. It rained 40 days and nights , Moses was on the mountain with God for 40 days and nights,  and the Israelite wandered for 40 years before entering the Promised Land. Jesus fasted in the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness. Believe with great expectation that this 40 Day Prayer Journey will develop a more intimate relationship with the Lord, a casting off of “old garments” and a renewed mind and heart which will result in transformation in your life.

Scriptures:  1 Chronicles 16:7-36; Psalms 95, 96; John 4:21-26

Repent:  Of failure to humbly worship the Lord for who He is –Kings of Kings, Holy, Loving, Lord; of not gathering with other believers to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth; of not giving our all to the Lord as an act of worship; of not worshipping Him with your whole heart  but only in form; of not magnifying and lifting high the name and person of Jesus Christ; of not participating in praise and worship of the Lord-personally and corporately; of not giving the Lord the honor that is due His name; of_____________________.

Pray:

  • Pray for the church to have a Christ-centered worship experience in spirit and truth that will please the Father.
  • For and receive a heart revived to passionately and completely worship the Lord, simply because He is worthy of our praise, worship and adoration.
  • Pray for sincere and honest exaltation of the name of the Lord, born of the Holy Spirit and the Word.
  • Pray for humility and unity among believers that will give rise to worshiping the Lord in the beauty of His holiness throughout the church.
  • Pray that the people of God will see themselves how God sees them.
  • Pray that you will be able to share an encouraging word today with someone.
  • Pray for people to be saved this day.

  • Pray that you and members of the church will worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.
  • Praise God – that He reigns now and forever. Amen!
  • REJOICE!!!——–This is the last day of the 40 Day Prayer Journey. Rejoice that God, the Exalted One, gives us the privilege of celebrating and honoring His rightful place as the Almighty Lord and King of Kings. Praise God that His name is above every name and that at His name every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Hallelujah! Ready to Pray: A Spiritual Journey of Prayer and Worship

ready to pray51L1P11sQzL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_

Gail Dudley’s Ready to Pray: A Spiritual Journey of Prayer and Worship shares the life and prayer lessons that she learned from the Lord through her spiritual journey with Him. Transparent, even funny, encouraging and biblically based, she shares and exhorts on how to develop and build a powerful prayer life. She gently challenges you to examine your own prayer journey as she shares her struggles and mistakes by encouraging the reader to use the “Steps of the Journey” note section at the end of the chapter. This is not just another prayer book of “how to” pray based on standard ways and formulas. She shares her experiences of how she grew in her prayer life based on the Word and the power of the Holy Ghost which lead to her testimony of a life transformed by the power of prayer with a heart for true worship. In sharing her journey which lead to her calling as an intercessor , she encourages you to know that you also can grow to know Jesus Christ through prayer.

Her goal is to help others, through their discovery of prayer, grow in their relationship with Jesus. She writes in an easy to understand style. She stresses the need to have an intimate relationship with God which flows from the heart before you can effectively pray. “In order to be “Ready to Pray” we have to get to a place where we are able to pray and come away with God’s heart, not ours”, exclaims Gail.

Some of the areas of prayer she addresses:

• the issues of prayerlessness,
• dealing with issues when you don’t know what to do,
• and learning to hear what God is speaking through His Word

Gail Dudley shows you that God speaks through His Word, and the Word of God provides a solid foundation for prayer. The book is written in easy to understand style and a Work Book is available. I enjoyed the chapter “It’s Different” where she reveals how she struggled with her calling as an intercessory and lets you know you do not have to be a “cookie cutter” prayer or intercessor ,but pray with your own unique style as the Lord allows.

Book Review by Linda Fegins

Excerpt – Chapter VI Interceding on Behalf of Other

There is truly an urgency to pray for individuals, marriages, families, churches, pastors, government, communities, the lost, and our cities. We find in the Bible this passage of Scripture, “One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: ‘Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city (Acts 18:9-10).'”

We are called by God to intercede. Intercession is praying and standing in the gap on behalf of another. Believe it or not, everyone has been called to pray on behalf of another. However, God has called others specifically to the ministry of intercession. Intercession is not about your personal conversation with God about yourself, your needs, and your desires.

Intercession means standing in the gap, covering, warring, and sometimes weeping on behalf of someone else in prayer. Sometimes it is when the Lord puts the face of a person in front of you or maybe the Lord drops someone’s name in your spirit. There’s nothing you can do but pray. Intercession is having a connection with God, talking with Him, petitioning Him, crying out to Him, through prayer on behalf of another in need.

All across the world there are individuals whom God has chosen to stand in the gap for someone else or for a particular situation. Maybe God has placed your name on the heart of someone else to pray. Maybe God has placed someone’s name on your heart to pray.

How can we pray for one another for such a time as this?

Day 23 Pursue Fellowship and Worship Together

AAWomenPraying
DAY 23 – March 7- Pursing Fellowship and Worship
40 Day Prayer Journey to Life Transformation

The initial week of the Lenten season we were praying about our personal relationship with the Lord. We focused on what should be our primary pursuit of loving the Lord with all heart. The second week we focused on our relationship with our family relationships and the third week our relationship with those in the body of Christ. On Day 21 we focused on repentance and reconciliation in broken relations in our families and with friends and loved ones and between and among congregations. On Day 22 we focused on forgiveness among family members, friends and church members and congregations. Today we focus on fellowship and worship together among family, friends, the community and church members.

Scriptures: Galatians 2:1-10; Philippians 2:1-4: 2 Chronicles 5:2-14; Psalm 95, 150; John 4:21-26.

Repent: Of failing to pursue genuine relationships with fellow believers; of living in separation and isolation from believers in our communities or families because of petty differences; of failing to worship the Lord without division; of not worshipping the Lord with our whole heart and according to the patterns set by the Lord in scripture; of judging styles of worship as more important than the heart of worship; of failing to cultivate an atmosphere of worship together that honors the Father , glorifies Christ and welcomes the Holy Spirit in corporate gatherings.

Action: Meditate, pray, and write down other areas of which to repent and for persons and situations that God places on your heart to pray about or to take action. Forgive.

Pray:

• Intercede for the body of Christ to fellowship with one another in the breaking of bread, fellowship and in prayer as the early church did continuing steadfastly in prayer, fellowship and the breaking of bread.
• For a commitment by church leaders and congregations to pursue relationships with those who differ from ourselves in race, culture and socio-economics and other areas of distinction.
• Intercede for the church members and leaders to release a fresh passion for worship together.
• For the walls of division created by personal styles, preferences and judgment to be brought down.
• For the church individually and corporately, to create a place where the Holy Spirit would be welcomed in the midst of worship.

Worshipping Our God in December

How: Worshiping Christ and Praying for His Rule/Presence Using 153 of His Names and Attributes

WHAT WE ARE PROPOSING WITH THESE NAMES AND ATTRIBUTES OF CHRIST
There are 153 names and attributes of Christ for which we have been praying and worshipping from.We will pray about a few of the names in the month of December. The names and attributes of God are meant to be a “Portrait of Christ”, from the Old and New Testaments. Christ fulfills all the promises, prophecies, revelations and works of God, and He is vast beyond compare. At this crucial time in history, He alone is our hope. Let us unite in using these 153 names and attributes of Christ to: (1) know Him more (2) worship and honor Him continually, and (3) fervently pray that He will rule and reign in our lives, in every other person in our spheres of influence, and in every person, place and situation across this nation (especially in our local and national leaders).( by Steven Hall

HOW EVERY CHRISTIAN CAN “FIX OUR EYES UPON JESUS” TOGETHER
1. Read the Scripture passage of the day a couple times and freshly devote ourselves to following Christ.
2. Worship Christ throughout each day according to His name/attribute of the day (be filled with awe and praise of His greatness and glory).
3. Pray continually (according to His name/attribute of the day) that Christ will rule in EVERY part of your life, in EVERY other person and situation He brings into your life throughout the day, and in EVERY person, place and situation that affects our nation.

What will God do if multitudes of believers saturate our spheres of influence with continuous worship of His beloved Son .What will God do in countless homes, churches, workplaces, schools, youth groups, local and national leaders, natural and manmade crises, the economy, and much more, if we fervently invite Christ to rule and reign in the authority of His names and attributes? May we be desperate for the manifest presence of Christ.

HEIR OF ALL THINGS
December 1 Hebrews 1:1-4 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So He became as much superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is superior to theirs.

THE RADIANCE OF GOD’S GLORY
December 2 Hebrews 1:1-4 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So He became as much superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is superior to theirs.

THE EXACT REPRESENTATION OF HIS BEING
December 3 Hebrews 1:1-4 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So He became as much superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is superior to theirs.

THE APOSTLE AND HIGH PRIEST
December 4 Hebrews 3:1-2, 6 Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess. He was faithful to the one who appointed Him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house. Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are His house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast.

THE GUARANTEE OF A BETTER COVENANT
December 5 Hebrews 7:21-26.But He (Jesus) became a priest with an oath God said to Him: “The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind: ‘You (Jesus) are a priest forever.’” Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant. Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; but because Jesus lives forever, He has a permanent priesthood. Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them. Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.

THE AUTHOR AND PERFECTOR (FINISHER) OF OUR FAITH
December 6 Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes upon Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

THE MEDIATOR OF A NEW COVENANT
December 7 Hebrews 12:22-24 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

A CONSUMING FIRE
December 8 Hebrews 12:28-29 Therefore since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”

LAWGIVER
December 9 James 4:11-12 Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?

THE LIVING STONE
December 10 1 Peter 2:4-5 As you come to Him (Jesus), the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to Him—you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

THE CHIEF SHEPHERD
December 11 1 Peter 5:1-4 To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of Christ’s sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be revealed. Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

THE WORD OF LIFE
December 12 1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.

THE RIGHTEOUS ONE
December 13 1 John 2:1-6 My dear children, I (John) write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. We know that we have come to know Him if we obey His commands. The man who says, “I know Him,” but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys His word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in Him: Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.

THE FAITHFUL WITNESS
December 14 Revelation 1:4b-6 “Grace and peace to you from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first born from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father—to Him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.”

THE FIRST BORN FROM THE DEAD
December 15 Revelation 1:4b-6 “Grace and peace to you from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first born from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father—to Him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.”

THE RULER OF THE KINGS OF THE EARTH
December 16 Revelation 1:4b-6 “Grace and peace to you from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first born from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father—to Him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.”

THE ALMIGHTY
December 17 Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

THE LIVING ONE
December 18 Revelation 1:17-18 When I saw Him (Jesus Christ), I fell at His feet as though dead. Then He placed His right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”

THE AMEN
December 19 Revelation 3:14-20 “To the angel of the Church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of My mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me.”

THE LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH, THE ROOT OF DAVID
December 20 Revelation 5:4-5 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

THE LAMB
December 21 Revelation 5: 6-12 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. He came and took the scroll from the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. And when He had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.” Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise.”

FAITHFUL AND TRUE
December 22 Revelation 19:11-16 I (John) saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice He judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on His head are many crowns. He has a name written on Him that no one knows but He Himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

THE WORD OF GOD
December 23 Revelation 19:11-16 I (John) saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.

KING OF KINGS
December 24 Revelation 19:11-16 I (John) saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.

LORD OF LORDS
December 25 Revelation 19:11-16 I (John) saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

THE DWELLING OF GOD
December 26 Revelation 21:1-7 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then He said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be My son.”

THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA
December 27 Revelation 21:1-7 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

THE BEGINNING AND THE END
December 28 Revelation 21:1-7 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

THE FIRST AND THE LAST
December 29 Revelation 22:7-13 (Jesus said), “Behold I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book (Revelation).” (John said) I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. But he said to me, “Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book. Worship God!” Then he told me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near. Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy.” (Jesus said again) “Behold, I am coming soon. My reward is with Me; and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

THE ROOT AND THE OFFSPRING OF DAVID
December 30 Revelation 22:16-17 I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.” The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.”

THE BRIGHT MORNING STAR
December 31 Revelation 22:16-17 I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.” The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.”

Praising God for His Goodness Using His Attributes the Month of November

Let the People Unite IN  PRAISING AND WORSHIPING CHRIST AND IN PRAYING FOR HIS LORDSHIP IN EVERY PERSON, PLACE AND SITUATION IN OUR NATION

How: Worshiping Christ and Praying for His Rule/Presence Using 153 of His Names and Attributes

WHAT WE ARE PROPOSING WITH THESE NAMES AND ATTRIBUTES OF CHRIST

There are 153 names and attributes of Christ for which we will be praying and worshipping from now until the end of the year. (one for each day August 1 – December 31, 2010), The names and attributes of God are meant to be a “Portrait of Christ”, from the Old and New Testaments.    At this crucial time in history, He alone is our hope.  Man’s best plans and resources are grossly inadequate to overcome the challenges and needs of the Church and all people.

What will God do if multitudes of believers saturate our spheres of influence with continuous worship of His beloved Son during the upc0ming 153 days?  What will God do in countless homes, churches, workplaces, schools, youth groups, local and national leaders, natural and manmade crises, the economy, and much more, if we fervently invite Christ to rule and reign in the authority of His names and attributes?   May we be desperate for the manifest presence of Christ.

Praise Him and think of His Goodness throughout the month of November and alway.

ONE AND ONLY SON

November 1 John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”

LIVING WATER

November 2 John 4:9-15 The Samaritan woman said to Him (Jesus), “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman.  How can you ask me for a drink?”  (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)  Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water.”  “Sir”, the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep.  Where can you get this living water?  Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his flocks and herds?”  Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst.  Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”  The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to drink water.”

MESSIAH (CALLED CHRIST)

November 3 John 4:21-26 Jesus declared (to the Samaritan woman) “Believe Me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.  You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.  Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.  God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”  The woman said, “I know that Messiah”(called Christ) “is coming.  When He comes, He will explain everything to us.”  Then Jesus declared, “I who speak to you am He.”

THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD

November 4 John 4:39-42 Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Him (Jesus) because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did” (said the woman).  So when the Samaritans came to Him, they urged Him to stay with them, and He stayed two days.  And because of His words many more became believers.  They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”

THE BREAD OF LIFE

November 5 John 6:25-27, 48-56 When they (the disciples) found Him (Jesus) on the other side of the lake, they asked Him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”  Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, you are looking for Me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.  Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.  On Him God the Father has placed His seal of approval….”I am the bread of life.  Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died.  But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die.  I am the living bread that came down from heaven.  If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever.  This bread is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”  Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?”  Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.  Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.  For My flesh is real food and My blood is real drink.  Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him.”

THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

November 6 John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, “I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

I AM

November 7 John 8:57-58 Jesus replied (to the Jews), “If I glorify Myself, My glory means nothing.  My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies Me.  Though you do not know Him, I know Him.  If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know Him and keep His word.  Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing My day; he saw it and was glad.”  “You are not yet fifty years old,” the Jews said to Him, “and you have seen Abraham!”  “I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”

THE GATE FOR THE SHEEP

November 8 John 10:7-10 Therefore, Jesus said again, “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep.  All who ever came before Me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.  I am the gate; whoever enters through Me will be saved.  He will come in and go out, and find pasture.  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

THE GOOD SHEPHERD

November 9 John 10:11, 14-15 “I (Jesus) am the good shepherd.  The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.  I am the good shepherd; I know My sheep and My sheep know Me—just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father—and I lay down My life for the sheep.”

THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE

November 10 John 11:25-27 Jesus said to her (Martha) “I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die.  Do you believe this?”  “Yes, Lord,” she told Him, “I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.”

THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE

November 11 John 14:5-7 “Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God; trust also in Me (Jesus).  In My Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.  You know the way to the place where I am going.”  Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”  Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.  If you really knew Me, you would know My Father as well.  From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him.”

THE TRUE VINE

November 12 John 15:1-5 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.  He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.  You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.  Remain in Me, and I will remain in you.  No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.  Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.  I am the vine; you are the branches.  If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.”

THE AUTHOR OF LIFE

November 13 Acts 3:13-15 “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus.  You handed Him over to be killed, and you disowned Him before Pilate, though he had decided to let Him go.  You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.  You killed the author of life, but God raised Him from the dead.”

THE LORD OF BOTH THE DEAD AND THE LIVING

November 14 Romans 14:7-11 For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone.  If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord.  So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.  For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that He might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.  You, then, why do you judge your brother?  Or why do you look down on your brother?  For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.  It is written: “As surely as I live,” says the Lord, every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.”

TREASURE

November 15 2 Corinthians 4:7-12 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.  We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.  We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.  For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that His life may be revealed in our mortal body.  So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.

HIS (GOD’S) INDESCRIBABLE GIFT

November 16 2 Corinthians 9:12-15 This service (giving generously) that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.  Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.  And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you.  Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift (of Jesus Christ).

OUR PEACE

November 17 Ephesians 2:11-15 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (that done in the body by the hands of men)—remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.  But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.  For He Himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in His flesh the law with its commandments and regulations.  His purpose was to create in Himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace….

THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE

November 18 Ephesians 2:19-22 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone.  In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.  And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit.

A FRAGRANT OFFERING AND SACRIFICE TO GOD

November 19 Ephesians 5:1-2 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH

November 20 Ephesians 5:23-27  For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the Church, His body, of which He is the Savior.  Now as the Church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.  Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to Himself as a radiant Church, without stain or wrinkles or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

THE IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD

November 21 Colossians 1:15-20 He (Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by Him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him.  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.  And He is the head of the body, the Church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy.  For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.

THE FIRSTBORN OVER ALL CREATION

November 22 Colossians 1:15-20 He (Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

THE HOPE OF GLORY

November 23 Colossians 1:25-27 I (Paul) have become its (the Church’s) servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness—the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints.  To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

THE MYSTERY OF GOD

November 24 Colossians 2:1-3 I want you to know how much I am struggling for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally.  My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

HEAD OVER EVERY POWER AND AUTHORITY

November 25 Colossians 2:6-7, 9-10 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.  For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is head over every power and authority.

ALL AND IN ALL

November 26 Colossians 3:1-4, 11, 16-17 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.  For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.  Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.  And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

MEDIATOR

November 27 1 Timothy 2:1-6 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.  For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all men–the testimony given in its proper time.

THE BLESSED AND ONLY RULER

November 28 1 Timothy 6:13-16 In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in His own time—God, the Blessed and Only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see.  To Him be honor and might forever.  Amen.

THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGE

November 29 2 Timothy 4:6-8 For I (Paul) am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure.  I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.

THE BLESSED HOPE

November 30 Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.  It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good.

Oct.22-Oct 31 2010 Worshipping Chirst and Praying for His Presence/Rule

TO UNITE IN WORSHIPING CHRIST AND IN PRAYING FOR HIS LORDSHIP IN EVERY PERSON, PLACE AND SITUATION IN OUR NATION

October 22 to October 31

A SAVIOR

October 21 Luke 2:8-14 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.  This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”  Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests.”

CHRIST THE LORD

October 22 Luke 2:8-14 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.

A GREAT PROPHET

October 23 Luke 7:11-17 Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and His disciples and a large crowd went along with Him.  As He approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow.  And a large crowd from the town was with her.  When the Lord saw her, His heart went out to her, and He said, “Don’t cry.”  Then He went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still.  He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!”  The dead man sat up, and he began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.  They were all filled with awe and praised God.  “A great prophet has appeared among us,” they said.  “God has come to help His people.”  This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country.

A FRIEND OF TAX COLLECTORS AND SINNERS

October 24 Luke 7:33-34 “For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’  The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, “Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’

MASTER

October 25 Luke 8:22-25 One day Jesus said to His disciples, “Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.”  So they got into a boat and set out.  As they sailed, He fell asleep.  A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.  The disciples went and woke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”  He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.  “Where is your faith?”  He asked His disciples.  In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this?  He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him.”

THE CHRIST OF GOD

October 26 Luke 9:20 Once when Jesus was praying in private and His disciples were with Him, He asked them, “Who do the crowds say I am?”  They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life.”  “But what about you?”  He asked.  “Who do you say that I am?”  Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”

THE WORD

October 27 John 1:1-4, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.  In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.  The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.

THE LIGHT OF MEN

October 28 John 1:1-5, 14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.  In Him was life, and that life was the light of menThe light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.  The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us

THE LAMB OF GOD

October 29 John 1:23-27, 29-30 John (the Baptist) replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the desert, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”  Now some Pharisees who had been sent questioned him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”  I baptize with water,” John replied, “but among you stands one you do not know.  He is the one who comes after me, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”  The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!  This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because He was before me.’”

THE SON OF GOD

October 30 John 1:32-34 Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on Him (Jesus).  I would not have known Him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is He who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’  I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God.”

RABBI

October 31 John 3:1-3 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council.  He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God.  For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him.”  In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”
