I Don’t Care What I Look Like (What About You?)

We should praise the Lord with our whole heart. Do we truly praise the Lord without shame and are able to say,”I don’t care what I look like”? Are we afraid of appearing undignified? Well, I have learned to praise the Lord with all of my heart. I listened to  the following song:

UNDIGNIFIED PRAISE

I will dance, I will sing to be mad for my King
Nothing, Lord, is hindering the passion in my soul
I will dance, I will sing to be mad for my King
Nothing, Lord, is hindering the passion in my soul

And I’ll become even more undignified than this
Some would say it’s foolishness
But I’ll become even more undignified than this
Leave my pride by the side

Songwriter – Matt Redman

You know how when you first hear a song you jump to a conclusion and say “I don’t like that song?” Well, undignified praise was not for me, until . . .

I was intrigued as I read the story of King David “dancing in the street.”  In 2 Samuel, we have a king, “dancing in the street” and not caring or worrying about what others thought. The King had overseen the return of the Ark, and as it returned he couldn’t contain his joy. I’m sure joy bells were ringing in his soul. The joy in his heart and soul made him “dance with all his might,” leaping and dancing. I’m sure if they would have had break dancing back in the day, he would have been spinning around on the ground. It had to be a sight to see because as his wife, Michal, King Saul’s daughter, watched from her window, she didn’t care for her husband’s, the king, behavior. She was so disgusted, she despised him in her heart.

After celebrating with Israel and returning home to rejoice with Michal, she met him at the door with a rolling-head attitude, and sarcastically mocked him: “How glorious the King of Israel looked today! He exposed himself to the girls along the street like a common pervert” (2 Samuel 6:20). King David didn’t let that steal his joy. He responded by saying, “It was before the LORD, who chose me, who appointed me ruler over the LORD’S people, Israel – I will celebrate before the Lord – I will become even more undignified than this” (2 Samuel 6: 21,22a).

The definition of undignified is “appearing foolish, lacking in dignity, demeaning, unworthy and unbefitting. David, the man after God’s own heart, was so in tune with God’s heart that he was unconcerned with the thoughts of the one who should have known his love for his God. He did not mind looking “undignified” for the Lord. His focus was on glorifying the true and living God and proclaiming, “Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same, the LORD’S name is to be praised. The LORD is high above all nations, and His glory above the heavens” (Psalms 113: 2-4).

His anointed words are prayers for my life – “becoming more undignified” in my celebration for the goodness and greatness of the LORD. I pray that I completely release my fears and worship with great joy and expectation, inside and outside of the walls of the sanctuary. Oh to have the courage of David, to be willing to look foolish in the eyes of people in order to worship God truly and honestly.

“Song of Joy”

Prayer:

Gracious LORD God, You are worthy of all worship and adoration. The times I need to worship You with all my might isn’t just in the good times, but also more when I’m facing something completely out of my control. I’m understanding even more now it’s when l speak or sing of God’s wonderful power and majesty that You bring wisdom and peace. Forgive me for letting others’ opinions influence how I worship and praise You. Holy Spirit, please help me to focus more on your majesty and less on myself. I Love You, Lord! In Jesus Name, Amen.

Praise Is What I Do, Now! by Song of Joy

Praise Is What I Do, Now!

September 5, 2001, I was reading a Detroit Free Press Magazine and I saw an article that said,” A Moving Experience – Moved By The Spirit.”

September 18, my friend, Daisy and I attended our first Higher Praise Worship Ministries dance class of 12 weeks under the leadership of Susan Hawthorne-Parks.

My purpose in enrolling in the praise dance class was to help me overcome the fear of speaking, moving and being free with my worship to the true and living God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit. I knew my praise to God was to be something that I present to God to acknowledge my deep passion and appreciation of who He is and all that He has done.

But I needed to overcome the fear expressing myself in public and what people might be thinking about me expressing myself. I was brought up at Messiah Baptist Church where basically the congregation witness to the truth  at times by saying “Amen”, a few shouts, clapping of the hands and patting of the feet to the music.

However, there wasn’t a praise language begin expressed. That “outer praise” was not there. You notice I said “outer praise”, because no one knows what goes on inside of a person. My Mom, back in her younger days was not one who did a lot of rejoicing or praising. She would clap her hands, shed some tears and nodded her head, but that was about it. But now, Mom can be teaching Sunday School or walking around the house and be talking about God and let out a “Shout of Joy – Hallelujah”.

Since I wasn’t around “praisers” and I wasn’t really taught much about how to praise the Lord. I never matured in that spiritual area. I really didn’t have true praise in my heart, mind, soul, body or on my lips because I was just plain old afraid.  I even used the excuses, “God can hear me. He knows my heart”. “Everybody don’t show praise the same way. It’s not for you anyway.” My favorite one was, “It don’t take all of that.” I didn’t even have the courage to open my mouth boldly in church or at home and say, “Lord I really Love You, I Adore You, I Honor You, I Magnify You. You’re an Awesome God and there is none like You. Hallelujah!” Not to mention, I wouldn’t dare stand up by myself and clap my hands in a service. No Way!

“Song of Joy ” aka Carol Turnbough

But Thanks Be To God! 16 years later the praise seeds that were planted during those 12 weeks  gave me a breakthrough in not being afraid to only praise and worship . The class taught me how to submit in praise and worship. My praise life has increased 1,000 times more and, “ Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for” this Praiser, Carol, Song of Joy!

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for not giving me the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, thank You for The Spirit that has lifted up a standard against him. Glory to Your name for a lifestyle of praise and thanksgiving. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Search Me Lord. I Won’t Complain, but Praise YOU.

search-me DAY 17 – February 26th – Strengths: Search Me Lord and Day 18 Praise God: Don’t Complain

Scriptures:   2 Corinthians 12:9–10; Psalm 81:8

Every strategy includes identifying your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT). It helps you to take a critical and complete look at what you have and what is needed for success (victory) to occur. God is your strength, and He has given you many talents, gifts, resources, and opportunities. Write down these strengths. Ask at least three people who know you well to tell you what they have seen and experienced as your strengths. Write down their responses and keep them/post them with your list.

Be honest about your weaknesses; pray and seek guidance from God and others when needed. Pray for opportunities to use but not abuse your training. Never manipulate people or projects; that is Satan’s game and gain. Know your threats—recognize the real enemy, temptations, and tricks you tend to fall for. Fortify your offense and defense in your War Room. We will continue to build on each of these points throughout this battle plan (2 Corinthians 12:9–10).*(Kathy Branzell)

The season of Lent should be a time of intense discipline and devotion. Obviously the word discipline is close to the word disciple. We are disciples or followers of Christ. We become like Christ through disciplines such as Bible Study, prayer, and ministry. Oh by the way, do you have your journal, Bible and a listening ear on this journey?

Pray:

  • For you to be obedient to the call to be a witness to others on your job, at the store and everywhere and to know what is your individual mandate.
  • Pray that family members and church members will have a strong and growing love for God and for others.
  • Pray that the church would walk in love for one another without hypocrisy and out of a pure heart.
  • Pray that the love of Christ will permeate you , believers in Christ and all churches so that the world would see and believe that God loves them and sent His Son so that they might have everlasting life and live in His love through salvation.
  • Pray that God will forgive us, as a nation for the mistreatment of Native Americans and other ethnic groups; for God’s fullest blessing upon their families and lands, that the tribes will find their healing justice and highest dignity as a people in Christ; that the gospel is proclaimed with love to them.

DAY 18 – February 27th – Don’t Complain: Praise and Pray.

Scriptures: 2 Timothy 2:22–26; 2 Chronicles 20:15

 complain praise 913375e67ad21e57eccc666ee929d3c8

Miss Clara points out to Elizabeth that Satan is the enemy, not her husband—and that all of her complaining brings curses and not blessing or healing to her marriage. Complaining is the praise music of hell. Satan loves to hear us gripe and grumble.

On the other hand, Satan hates to hear us pray. He can deceive, distract, and discourage us all he wants until we turn to God to fight for us—and then Satan is defeated! God has no tolerance for complaining; it does not express faith.

If you want to fight the good fight, it is time to turn our eyes on Jesus and profess our faith in Him. Praise expresses the awe-inducing, unchanging, mighty attributes of God. As we profess that He is Almighty, we perceive that our problems are not big and bad after all.

Write down some attributes of God from Scripture and pray them to remind yourself and the enemy that God is stronger and sovereign. Write down blessings to pray over the people connected to your prayer strategy. Remember, asking God to reveal anything they are doing in deceit is a blessing as long as you pray repentance and redemption over them as well (2 Timothy 2:22–26).*(Kathy Branzell)

Bible study and prayer are essential to the life of every Christian. Intentionally read and study the scriptures and listen to God’s words. Fill your mind and soul with His stories and His truths. Spend more time in prayer. Learn to pray on your knees or prostrate on the floor. Confess your sins. Ask God to reveal to you areas of your life that need His transformation. Commit to deeper Bible study and times of prayer.

Pray:

  • Pray for those who are blinded by sin that the scales will be removed from their eyes, ears and their minds are illumined with the gospel. Pray for unbelievers to accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
  • Pray that you and members of your church and believers everywhere would praise the Lord with their whole heart and grow in personal and corporate prayer.
  • Pray for the Lord to add to the church daily those who are being saved. (Acts 2:4)
  • Pray for opportunities for you and other believers to witness and invite people to the Lord and/or to the church. Colossians 4:2-4.
  • Pray for college students.

Brag on God and Say Thank You!

“O give thanks unto the Lord! Call upon His name; make known his deeds among the people!(1 Chronicle16:8-10) No matter what the circumstance give thanks that you have a prayer hearing God, that has unfamthonable love for and that you are more than a conqueror.

Thank God 582582_10151191856596431_1234728255_n

God’s command is “In every thing give thanks”; and the command is emphasized by the declaration, “for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thess. 5:18, KJV). It is an actual positive command. If we want to obey God, we have simply got to give thanks in everything. There is no getting around it.

So Brag on the King of Kings and the one who loves you unconditionally. Brag on God this month and really everyday give thanks to the Lord. Whatever you can say about Him -Tell Him how He is better than that….. Give a word of thanks and/ or praise.

“Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness and loving-kindness and His wonderful works to the children of men! Ps. 107:21

Praise_Him[1]

“And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and rehearse His deeds with shouts of joy and singing! Ps 107:22.

Sometimes we are so busy looking at our problems or situations and what is wrong in the world and our lives, we forget to remember to be thankful. The people of Israel demonstrated this time and time again. How many times God delivered Israel and protected them time and time again and they would forget His deliverance and blessings and complain. Jesus also illustrates this in the story of the 10 lepers (Lk 17:11-19). God answered a prayer and only the Samaritan returned to give thanks, for he knew what it was like to be cut off from God’s blessings and fellowship.

thank you394943_10151199484296431_220284568_n

Brag on God with thanksgiving and Praise. What are you specifically thankful for?
Thank Him for all He has done!

Ephesians 5:20 – Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This week each day I challenge each of us to brag on God and specifically think about, and thank the Lover of Your soul for all His blessings to you. Then open your mouth with the sacrifice of praise and Tell God and others how thankful and grateful you are. Below is an example of how each day we can Brag on God and give Him thanks.

Day 18- Brag on God and be Grateful. Tell Him how grateful and thankful you are.

Walter Hawkins Lyrics from Be Grateful
(Be-e-e-e-e-e Grateful) Grateful
(Be-e-e-e-e-e Grateful) Be Grateful
Because there’s someone else who’s worse off than you
Be Grateful (Be Grateful)
Because there’s someone else who’d love to be in your shoes
Be Grateful ( Be Grateful)
Oh yeah!
My God said he’d never, never foresake you!
Be Grateful (Be Grateful)oh yeah!
God said he would, he would never, never forsake you!
Be Grateful (Be Grateful)oh yeah!
Be Grateful Hallelujah!
Oh! Be Grateful
The Lord is the light!

Be Grateful (Be Grateful)Yeah, Yeah
Be Grateful
For everything you got!
Be Grateful (Be Grateful)Yeah, Yeah

Day 19 – Brag on God– Think thankfully. How has God been so good to you? – Thankfully count the ways and say it , TELL it, and post it below.

– O give thanks unto the Lord! Call upon His name; make known his deeds among the people!(1 Chronicle16:8-10)

Day 20 Brag on God and “Think Thankfully”. How many specific thank you’s can you give Him for all His blessings , benefits, and love? Post some of them.

I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and TALK of thy doings. Psalm 77:11-12

Day 21– Brag on God. Praise Him for His mighty works. Thank Him for everything He has done and DOES for you on a daily basis even in the midst of our mess ups.

It is good to remember that the tea kettle although up to its neck in hot water, continues to sing. ( God’s Instruction Book)

Rejoice evermore… In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16, 18

Day 22 Brag on God. Praise Him for His mighty works. Thank Him for all His daily benefits. Tell Him as great as you think – He is better than that. See the blessings of your life and Think, Thank and Tell that below and else where.

Some people complain because God put thorns on roses, while others praise Him for putting roses among the thorns.(God’s Instruction Book)

Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true…honest…just…pure…lovely…of good report;if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians.4:8

Day 23 Brag on God and thank Him for his goodness and mercy. Think, thank and tell of His goodness.

I praise you old God for you are a loving God whose very nature is love. (1 John 4:16)

Thank God for His abundant goodness that overflows into our lives.
Thank the Lord that He never slumbers and sleeps and He constantly watches over you. Tell Him …..

When we live everyday with a thankful attitude, our spiritual lives grow, we become more intimate with God and we please the Lord.

DAY 20 – March 4- Pursing Unity and Cooperation
40 Day Prayer Journey to Life Transformation

The initial week of the Lenten season we were praying about our personal relationship with the Lord. We focused on what should be our primary pursuit of loving the Lord with all heart. The second week we focused on our relationship with our family relationships and the third week our relationship with those in the body of Christ. Today we will pray about relationship with the church in our city.

Scriptures: John 17:20-26; Psalm 133; Galatians 3:26-29; Ephesians 2:14-22, 4:1-6

Repent: Of operating in disunity, separation and division towards followers of Christ who do not attend our own congregation or jurisdiction or who have differences of belief on the non-essentials of the faith; of allowing things that were never intended to unite us to divide us; of allowing prejudice and pride and an unteachable spirit to keep us from working together in the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Christ wants His bride to come together in the unity of the Spirit and in love.

Meditate, pray, and write down other areas of which to repent and for persons and situations that God places on your heart to pray about or to take action.

• Ask for forgiveness and for the mind and heart to tear down the wall of division among various congregations and Christian leaders.

Worshipping Our God in December

How: Worshiping Christ and Praying for His Rule/Presence Using 153 of His Names and Attributes

WHAT WE ARE PROPOSING WITH THESE NAMES AND ATTRIBUTES OF CHRIST
There are 153 names and attributes of Christ for which we have been praying and worshipping from.We will pray about a few of the names in the month of December. The names and attributes of God are meant to be a “Portrait of Christ”, from the Old and New Testaments. Christ fulfills all the promises, prophecies, revelations and works of God, and He is vast beyond compare. At this crucial time in history, He alone is our hope. Let us unite in using these 153 names and attributes of Christ to: (1) know Him more (2) worship and honor Him continually, and (3) fervently pray that He will rule and reign in our lives, in every other person in our spheres of influence, and in every person, place and situation across this nation (especially in our local and national leaders).( by Steven Hall

HOW EVERY CHRISTIAN CAN “FIX OUR EYES UPON JESUS” TOGETHER
1. Read the Scripture passage of the day a couple times and freshly devote ourselves to following Christ.
2. Worship Christ throughout each day according to His name/attribute of the day (be filled with awe and praise of His greatness and glory).
3. Pray continually (according to His name/attribute of the day) that Christ will rule in EVERY part of your life, in EVERY other person and situation He brings into your life throughout the day, and in EVERY person, place and situation that affects our nation.

What will God do if multitudes of believers saturate our spheres of influence with continuous worship of His beloved Son .What will God do in countless homes, churches, workplaces, schools, youth groups, local and national leaders, natural and manmade crises, the economy, and much more, if we fervently invite Christ to rule and reign in the authority of His names and attributes? May we be desperate for the manifest presence of Christ.

HEIR OF ALL THINGS
December 1 Hebrews 1:1-4 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So He became as much superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is superior to theirs.

THE RADIANCE OF GOD’S GLORY
December 2 Hebrews 1:1-4 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So He became as much superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is superior to theirs.

THE EXACT REPRESENTATION OF HIS BEING
December 3 Hebrews 1:1-4 In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So He became as much superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is superior to theirs.

THE APOSTLE AND HIGH PRIEST
December 4 Hebrews 3:1-2, 6 Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess. He was faithful to the one who appointed Him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house. Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are His house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast.

THE GUARANTEE OF A BETTER COVENANT
December 5 Hebrews 7:21-26.But He (Jesus) became a priest with an oath God said to Him: “The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind: ‘You (Jesus) are a priest forever.’” Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant. Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office; but because Jesus lives forever, He has a permanent priesthood. Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them. Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.

THE AUTHOR AND PERFECTOR (FINISHER) OF OUR FAITH
December 6 Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes upon Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

THE MEDIATOR OF A NEW COVENANT
December 7 Hebrews 12:22-24 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

A CONSUMING FIRE
December 8 Hebrews 12:28-29 Therefore since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”

LAWGIVER
December 9 James 4:11-12 Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?

THE LIVING STONE
December 10 1 Peter 2:4-5 As you come to Him (Jesus), the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to Him—you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

THE CHIEF SHEPHERD
December 11 1 Peter 5:1-4 To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of Christ’s sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be revealed. Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

THE WORD OF LIFE
December 12 1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.

THE RIGHTEOUS ONE
December 13 1 John 2:1-6 My dear children, I (John) write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. We know that we have come to know Him if we obey His commands. The man who says, “I know Him,” but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys His word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in Him: Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.

THE FAITHFUL WITNESS
December 14 Revelation 1:4b-6 “Grace and peace to you from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first born from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father—to Him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.”

THE FIRST BORN FROM THE DEAD
December 15 Revelation 1:4b-6 “Grace and peace to you from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first born from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father—to Him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.”

THE RULER OF THE KINGS OF THE EARTH
December 16 Revelation 1:4b-6 “Grace and peace to you from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first born from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father—to Him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.”

THE ALMIGHTY
December 17 Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

THE LIVING ONE
December 18 Revelation 1:17-18 When I saw Him (Jesus Christ), I fell at His feet as though dead. Then He placed His right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”

THE AMEN
December 19 Revelation 3:14-20 “To the angel of the Church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of My mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me.”

THE LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH, THE ROOT OF DAVID
December 20 Revelation 5:4-5 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

THE LAMB
December 21 Revelation 5: 6-12 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. He came and took the scroll from the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. And when He had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.” Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise.”

FAITHFUL AND TRUE
December 22 Revelation 19:11-16 I (John) saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice He judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on His head are many crowns. He has a name written on Him that no one knows but He Himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written: “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

KING OF KINGS

LORD OF LORDS

THE DWELLING OF GOD
December 26 Revelation 21:1-7 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then He said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be My son.”

THE BEGINNING AND THE END
December 28 Revelation 21:1-7 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. THE FIRST AND THE LAST
December 29 Revelation 22:7-13 (Jesus said), “Behold I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book (Revelation).” (John said) I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. But he said to me, “Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book. Worship God!” Then he told me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near. Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy.” (Jesus said again) “Behold, I am coming soon. My reward is with Me; and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

THE ROOT AND THE OFFSPRING OF DAVID
December 30 Revelation 22:16-17 I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.” The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.”
