DAY 40– March 23 Worship God
40 Day Prayer Journey to Life Transformation

This is the last day of the 40 Day Prayer Journey to Life Transformation. As these 40 days of repentance, fasting and prayer draw to an end, we must make a commitment and set our minds to press onward to consistently seek the Lord in prayer and worship and to intercede for your city, family , nation and others. Jesus has been with us on this journey through ups and downs, struggles to stay on course, to stretch out of our comfort zone and to grow in the Lord. Let us give Him the praise He deserves. We must hold fast to the transformation in our lives we have experienced. May we rally together to transform our city with the presence of Christ.

Scriptures: 1 Chronicles 16:7-36; Psalms 95, 96; John 4:21-26

Repent: Of failure to humbly worship the Lord for who He is –Kings of Kings, Holy, Loving, Lord; of not gathering with other believers to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth; of not giving our all to the Lord as an act of worship; of not worshipping Him with your whole heart but only in form; of not magnifying and lifting high the name and person of Jesus Christ; of not participating in praise and worship of the Lord-personally and corporately; of not giving the Lord the honor that is due His name; of_____________________.

Pray:

• For and receive a heart revived to passionately and completely worship the Lord, simply because He is worthy of our praise, worship and adoration.
• For the church to have a Christ centered experience of worship in spirit and truth that will please the Father.
• For humble and sincere exaltation of the name of the Lord;
• For humility and unity among believers that will give rise to worshiping the Lord in the beauty of His holiness throughout His church.

DAY 7 – February 19 – Obeying and Serving the Lord
40 Day Prayer Journey to Life Transformation

Scriptures: Deuteronomy 11:18-32; John 14:15-24; Psalm 100 ; Hebrews 9:11-15,12:28-29

This is Day 7 of this 40 Day Journey to Life Transformation. I hope you have been daily meditating on the daily scriptures that apply to a specific focus, fasting and writing in your journal. It takes discipline and getting out of our comfort zone to look at the “man or woman in the mirror” and to repent. God wants you to seek His face in intimate communion, consultation, and listening. He wants you to intentionally seek His heart and voice in everything that you do. He also wants us to obey His Word. During these 40 Days you should want and God wants to see transformation in our hearts, mindset and lifestyle.

The number 40 is a significant number. Biblically speaking 40 is a specific time period associated with a period of testing, trial, probation or chastisement. “The number 40 is a indication that God is ready to birth something new out of pain or challenge”. Kingdom Principles for Everyday Living by Stewart Perrilliat. It rained 40 days and nights , Moses was on the mountain with God for 40 days and nights, and the Israelites wandered for 40 years before they entered the Promised Land. Jesus fasted in the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness before He began His ministry. Believe with great expectation that this 40 Day Prayer Journey will develop a more intimate relationship with the Lord, a casting off of “old garments” and a renewed mind and heart which will result in transformation in your life.

Repent: Of professing a love for God without obeying His Word; of making excuses for not obeying His Word; of expecting blessing without obeying ; of persisting in known revealed sin.

Repent: Of serving without joy or unity of the Spirit with brothers and sisters in the body of Christ and at Messiah; of serving out of law and not of love and of serving with impure intentions, goals, and/or reasons.

Pray:
• Ask the Lord to forgive you for the ways you have ignored His Word and disobeyed and followed your own way or the ways of the world.
• Pray for grace from the Lord to obey His Word.
• Pray for yourself and the church to be filled with a love for the Word of God.
• Pray that believers will witness for Christ through their lives and words.
• Ask God what more can you do to serve our church and community.
• Pray for a fresh anointing to serve with joy, gladness, passion and power.
• Pray that our service would be God motivated, God centered and God ordained.
• Pray that the church will reach out on a greater level to the widows, poor and the less fortunate.

40 Day Prayer Journey by Grace for Life Transformation Day 3

I sought the Lord and He heard me24451_10151175680437283_1306356890_n

As mentioned yesterday on Day 2 of Lent, pursuing God during the Lenten Season in a 40 Day Prayer Journey By Grace for Life Transformation involves fasting and praying and a word we don’t like “repentance. Repentance is important to God. It is God’s design for healing and restoration, so we cannot view it as optional during this journey. ” See Reflection and Repentance During Lent. https://ladyofprayer.com/?p=1063.

So even if it’s uncomfortable, even painful if we are honest, continue to take the time to reflect on and pray about what you started yesterday. Let’s examine our lives and see how we measure up to His standard of repentance. You may even need to just meditate on and review the scriptures from yesterday posted in the above article.

DAY 3 – February 15 – Seeking the Lord with a Clean Heart

Scriptures: Deut. 4:39-40 ; 2 Chron. 7:12-16 ; Heb. 11:6 Psalm 66: 18-19 ; Mark 11: 25-26

Repent: Of not consistently seeking after the Lord to know Him, His ways, and His will. Repent of seeking after the ways and approval of man.

Repent: Of failing to forgive another and holding malice in your heart. Or repent if you know that you have offended or hurt someone.

Reflect: Is there any area in your life about which you need to release bitterness, or have refused to forgive someone or sinful areas which you need to release.

Receive: Forgiveness and ask for a sincere and diligent heart to know the Lord, to see His face and to walk with in communion.

Pray:
• Ask God to search your heart and to reveal to you any sin for which you need to seek forgiveness.
• For a deeper prayer relationship with Christ through prayer.
• Pray for your enemies and ask God to release you from any unforgiveness.
• Confess any sin that the Spirit brings to your attention.
• Forgive and pray for those who have offended you and hurt you.
• Thank God for His mercy and grace through repentance.
• Ask god to give you a fresh understanding of His character and His holiness.
• Pray for unity in the Spirit in our church family and for reconciliation where people are at odds.
• Pray that the gospel may reach, touch and renew the hearts and minds of people without hope in our world today.
• Intercede for family members, friends and neighbors that they may began to seek to know God and have a desire to walk and talk with Him.
• Pray for the community and our city to turn from wicked ways and to seek the Lord.
• Pray for those who are unemployed and those burdened by debt.

Prayer and Fasting: Lord Draw Me Into A Closer Walk With Thee

“Prayer is the key that opens the storehouse of God’s infinite grace and power”. R. A. Torrey

” But He draws close to us as we draw close to Him”. James 4:8

As you set your goals for 2011, let your first goal be to seek the Lord and to increase your walk with Him by increasing your prayer life and bible study. Matthew 6:33 AMP states , ” But seek first of all His Kingdom and His righteousness, and then all these things taken together will be given you besides”. Prayer

“Lord, I draw close to You today, grateful that You will draw close to me as You promised in your Word ( James 4:8). I long to dwell in your presense and my desire is for a deeper and more intimate relationship with You.
God help me to set aside time each day to meet with you alone… Teach me to pray the way You want me to. Help me to learn more about you. ( Portions of prayer taken from ‘The Power of A Praying Woman” by Stormie Omartian)

One prayer warrior Alvin J. Vander Griend calls prayer “the talking part of the most important love relationship of your life”. God loves you so that, although He is sovereign, He has decided that He wants a relationship with you and to commune with you. Prayer is an awesome privilege .Two reasons for prayer is to develop a relationship with God and to release God’s will on earth.

You want to draw closer to Him and to know Him? You need answers? You want God to guide you as you set and carry out your goals ? Come join the 21 Day of Prayer and Fasting with myself and Minetta Hare of Faith at Work Ministries. Below is information Missionary Hare has supplied about the 21 Day Prayer and Fasting Journey.

So you may be starting a little after January 1 ,2011 but you can still do the following :

1. Determine to spend quality time with the Lover of your soul every day. Decide to start out with half an hour and increase it slowly. Be diligent and be faithful. We can never grow or develop an intimate relationship with God unless we spend quality time with Him.
2. Have a journal. God has so much to speak into your life. It may not happen overnight if you haven’t been praying on a consistent basis. But remember He is right there listening. Prayer is a dialogue. He wants you to listen also. Don’t give up. He hears the prayers of the righteous who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior and have no inquity in their heart against another.
3. Join the Global Prayer Force 21 Day Fasting and Prayer Journey led by Missionary Minetta Hare of Faith at Work Ministries. Below is information on getting started on the Prayer and Fasting Journey.

PRAYER FOCUS

Week 1 – January 1 – 7 Repent of your failings and shortcomings. Ask God to search your heart. Psalm 139: 23-24, Psalm 51.

Fasting is not just for the purpose of resolving specific problems. It has purpose of renewing and strengthening your relationship with God so that your everyday prayers can be more effective.

Week 2 – January 8 – 14 Pray and Intercede for Others and their Needs.

Week 3 – January 15 – 21 Boldly present Your Own Needs Before the Lord.

QUICK TIPS FOR FASTING
by Minetta Hare on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 2:56pm

Be sure to consult your doctor before beginning any fast, especially if you have any type of medical condition.

How to Begin Start with a clear goal. Be specific. Why are you fasting? Do you need direction, healing, restoration of marriage or family issues? Are you facing financial difficulties? Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance. Pray daily and read the Bible.

Preparing Spiritually Confess your sins to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of weakness. Forgive all who have offended you and ask forgiveness from those you may have offended (Mark 11:25; Luke 11:4; 17:3-4). Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ and reject the worldly desires that try to hinder you (Romans 12:1-2).

Deciding What to Fast The type of fasting you choose is up to you. You could go on a full fast in which you only drink liquids, or you may desire to fast like Daniel, who abstained from sweets and meats, and the only liquid he drank was water. Remember to replace that time with prayer and Bible study.

Deciding How Long You may fast as long as you like. Most can easily fast from one to three days, but you may feel the grace to go longer, even as much as 21 to 40 days. Use wisdom and pray for guidance. Beginners are advised to start slow.

What to Expect When you fast your body detoxifies, eliminating toxins from your system. This can cause mild discomfort such as headaches and irritability during withdrawal from caffeine and sugars. And naturally, you will have hunger pains. Limit your activity and exercise moderately. Take time to rest. Fasting brings about miraculous results. You are following Jesus’ example when you fast. Spend time listening to praise and worship. Pray as often as you can throughout the day. Get away from the normal distractions as much as possible and keep your heart and mind set on seeking God’s face.

How to End Don’t overeat when the time comes to end your fast. Begin eating solid food gradually; eat small portions or snacks.

PRAY, PRAY AND PRAY SOME MORE.
