Arise College Students Need Prayer-

college1238820_541599732577746_1875652327_n

Just like our school age children many teens and young adults went off to college campuses around the country. Let’s pray strategically for our college students. We know that college students are faced with a new environment, meeting new people from various backgrounds and higher levels of learning. Many of our young adults still may be impressionable as they are faced with a new freedom many have never experienced.  As moms and dads we need to arise to pray as college students need prayer just as our school age children.
As our children grow and go off to college our prayers for them are essential as they begin to face many issues. We want them to be equipped with skills and education that will prepare them to make a successful living and to live productive lives. Yet they are still subject to the issues of the world. I saw college statistics that state college students engage in binge drinking (90%), are having sex , use drugs (80%) ,and have suicidal thoughts(18%). Yes. Arise college students need prayer.

  1. Name your college children and relatives and the college they attend. We will pray for and with you and the students.
  2. Pray for college students and adopt a college campus for which you will pray at least 10 minutes a day or three times a week.
  3. Join with other moms and dads with college students and pray together once a week or once a month
  4. Pray with your college students. Encourage them to pray.

Here are good prayers for college students that you might want to use as you pray. These can easily be adjusted for use by you, by others who love them and want to lift up intercessory prayers for college students, and the college students themselves.

Prayer Points for College Students:

Open the hearts of students, faculty and administrators so they can respond to the message.
4. Holy Spirit convict believing students of sin and help them to abstain from it  Empower them to walk in Your ways and to live lives that their unbelieving peers will see their good deed and give YOU glory. (1 Peter2:11-12)

8. Lord, raise up generation of godly faculty and administrators with aptitude in every field and in every kind of learning, who are quick to understand and able to teach in a negative or godless environment. (Daniel 1:4)
9. Lord, please give the faculty and administrator wisdom , strength and courage to be the best instructor and administrator that they can be. Teachers Need Much Prayer Too! (Back to School Prayer)

black-male-teachingimages

Each week for the last three weeks I have been discussing about the need to pray for our schools and children and providing specific prayer points for our children. https://ladyofprayer.com/unite-cry-schools-linda-fegins/  We need to continually uplift the entire educational system and all those involved the mountain of education which includes our teachers and administrators. Teachers need much prayer too. We need teachers who are committed to effectively teaching our children.  Schools must be safe for teachers as well as students.

On the other hand we must guard against negative attitudes of teachers that adversely affects how and what they teach children. We cannot tolerate teachers such as Jennifer O’ Brien who made negative remarks about a group of largely Black and Hispanic first graders when she complained that she was a “warden for future criminal’s”.

Teachers are teaching and training our children 5 days a week. They need prayer as a part of our children’s life. The prayer of agreement is powerful and we must join our voices and hearts to consistently pray for those involved in educating our children. Below are specific prayer points to pray for our teachers and administrators. https://www.facebook.com/PrayActWriteRight

Prayer Points for Teachers:

  • Pray that our children will be open to learning new knowledge and to acquire both secular and spiritual knowledge. Pray that God would give them the wisdom to know how to understand and use that knowledge and they use it rightly and for good. (Proverbs 22:6) (2 Timothy 2:15)
Pray for our school teachers to have the wisdom needed to effectively impart knowledge to their students. A wise teacher makes learning a joy… (Proverbs 15:2a)
    • Pray for our school teachers that God will give them the grace to deal with day-to-day frustrations and problems.
    • Pray that our school teachers would exhibit the life of Christ before our children. That they would be filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and faithfulness.
    • Pray to the one in charge of the harvesting, and ask him to recruit more effective teachers with integrity for our schools. ( See Matthew 9:38)
    • Ask God to rise up Godly educators who are dedicated to their field and can capture the hearts and minds of our nation’s youth on each level of education. (Colossians 1:9-10)
    • Pray our educators will pray unceasingly for guidance and wisdom to become the examples to their students. (I Peter 2:21) Pray they will know how to pray for their students.
    • Pray that teachers will impart godly wisdom to form godly character in their students. (Luke 6:40)
  • Pray for our school teachers that God will give them the grace to deal with day-to-day frustrations and problems.

The Challenge:

  • State the name of your child or college student and their school.
  • Adopt a school or college in your community or where your child attends to daily pray for using the prayer points from prior posts.
  •  State the name of a teacher you want to pray for.

teacher-cher-reading-book-to-young-students-in-classroom-horizontally-framed-shot

Prior blog articles have challenged us to pray daily for our children and the schools and colleges they attend and all those who have influence upon them in the educational sphere or mountain . Also I have encouraged you to adopt a school and pray for it.  https://ladyofprayer.com/back-school-prayer-safety/          https://ladyofprayer.com/unite-cry-schools-linda-fegins/;

We want our children to receive the very best education and to reach their full potential. Therefore we want to pray back to school prayers for children’s academic studies. Here are a few prayer points and then a prayer  for our children’s  ability to learn and study. Pray the following prayer points:

  • Pray that our children will be open to learning new knowledge and to acquire both secular and spiritual knowledge. Pray that God would give them the wisdom to know how to understand and use that knowledge and they use it rightly and for good. (Proverbs 22:6) (2 Timothy 2:15)
  • Pray for those students that are struggling academically. Ask God to encourage them and strengthen their minds. Pray that God will give their teachers and parent’s wisdom to know how to best help them learn.
  • Pray they will not feel like failures, but will learn discipline and know that God loves them. (I Thessalonians 5:14)
  • Pray that our children will be serious minded and work hard to acquire both secular and spiritual knowledge. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
  • Pray that the Lord encourage those children who have special needs and “who have struggled with their studies to strengthen their minds. Help the teachers and parents know how to help them learn and protect them from feelings of worthlessness and shame. ( I Thess 5:14) (from Ida Rose Heckard)

Parents Need Back to School Prayer and Encouragement

school back-to-school1

The day after Labor Day around the country usually marks the first day of school for most of our children and youth. We send up prayers of protection and safety for our children. https://ladyofprayer.com/unite-cry-schools-linda-fegins/ I have encouraged you to join us in praying for our school age children , youth and college students this month.

This time also marks the season that parents have to get ready for the school season and be prepared for the first day of school as well.

I smile as you see pictures and cartoons of parents that are so glad school has started that they celebrate that the children will be out of the house.

parents celebrate back to school

But single and two parents families need prayer and encouragement, as entrepreneur and award winning author and mother of five Camille Jamerson expounded about single parents: https://www.thefeginsreport.com/2016/09/07/first-day-of-school-encouragement-for-parents/

Special love and prayers to my fellow single moms( or dads) especially with multiple kids. I know you are posting *back to school* pics and smiling on the outside but I know that inner anxiety and frustration that creeps up this time of year as you struggle to figure out how you’re going to get it all done when it’s just you.

As a parent of children heading to school and college, I am sure you are especially sensitive of this experience and you are looking for ways to ease the transition for you and your family. May God bless you today parents, guardians, or caretakers . Here is a prayer to fortify and empower you:

back to school prayers 1230046_540085746062478_2122145817_n

Dear Lord, our loving Father,

Lord I thank you for my/our children. They are a true blessing and rich treasure. Help me always to value them in the same way you value them.
Lord guide me and the Mothers and Fathers as they send their children to school or off to college for the very first time or back to school again. Give me peace and clarity. Let me/us be anxious for nothing but by prayer and supplication seek you. Lord I know that you are hiding my child under your protective wings and the Blood of Jesus. Let divine order go forth then Lord and give me/us peace in You.

Help me Lord to walk in love and divine order and not allow stress, school assignments and school activities to overwhelm me and to act unkind or rashly to my children.
Lord let me be a loving parent. May I be my children’s safe place. Teach me to manage my home well and to raise obedient and respectful children. Show me Lord how a parent should nurture and care for his/her children.

Lord I commit myself to the important responsibility of training my children in the way they should go. Bring them to full salvation through faith in Jesus.
Lord I pray for strength, grace, resources, WISDOM and peace of mind for myself and the Mothers, Moms , Mamas, and Dads and Fathers. I beseech you to me/us wisdom to be the most effective parent I /we can through the blood of Jesus to make daily decisions about the discipline and nurturing of my/our children. Help me/us each day to be conscious of the need to bring my/our children up in your nurture and admonition.
.
Fill me/us with the spirit of wisdom that I/we might discern your will, Father when it comes to making decisions that affect the future and well-being of my/our child. With you Lord I/we have strength and wisdom.
Father, I/we need your wisdom. Let my mouth speak wisdom, love and blessings to my children. Turn my heart to my children, and the hearts of my children to me, so that our home and the school year may be blessed. Amen.

Ephesians 6:4 ;James 3:15-17; Psalm 37:30: Exodus 28:3; Job 12:13; Luke 18:16; Psalms 40:8;1 Tim 3:4 NIV ; Phil 4:6-7( some of this prayer is adopted from Prayers That Prevail for Your Children, Richards & Hildebrand).
