DAY 10 – – February 22 – Forgiving One Another: Heal Broken Relationships
40 Day Prayer Journey to Life Transformation

As we continue to pray and study about transforming our relationships in the home, we must begin to deal honestly with the sins within our homes. We want and God intended for our homes to demonstrate His love to the world.

Scriptures: Mark 11:25-26; John 20: 19-23; Eph. 4:31-32; Col. 3:12-13

Repent: Of harboring unforgiveness and resentments against family member; of allowing petty disagreements to disrupt unity and love; of not demonstrating forgiveness toward one another; of justifying and excusing unforgiveness in ourselves.

Receive: Forgiveness, as you forgive others, remembering that Jesus taught that :If you forgive men_________________. But if you do not forgive men___________(. Matthew 6:14-15, ( Fill in the blanks and Obey).

Pray:• Pray for forgiveness to permeate families and in particular your family.
• That the Holy Spirit would empower Christians to be the first to forgive.
• That our families would be free from the destructive power of unforgiveness and the damage that comes from holding on to past hurt or resentments.
• For the Holy Spirit will bring a wave of forgiveness in our city to soften hearts, penetrate barricades of fear and mend fractured relationships.
• That love would be released to cover a multitude of sins within families so restoration and healthy relationship might abound.
• Pray that parents will be diligent in disciplining their children and to train them to walk in forgiveness and obedience.

Spiritual Health Check Up- Write responses in a journal or notebook

Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” .Hebrews 4:12 .

“Prayer is the key that opens the storehouse of God’s infinite grace and power”. R.A. Torrey. The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much. James 5:16 . I pray that you and your family will strive together to study the Word and pray individually and together as a family. God wants household salvation, study and worship.

When did you have a prayer answered?
Are your prayers all requests or do you spend time in praise, awe, and thanksgiving toward God?
Do you take time to be silent before God so that you can “hear” God’s voice?
Do you recognize God’s voice in your life through His Word?

Day 7 of 40 Day Prayer Journey to Life Transformation

DAY 7 – February 19 – Obeying and Serving the Lord
40 Day Prayer Journey to Life Transformation

Scriptures: Deuteronomy 11:18-32; John 14:15-24; Psalm 100 ; Hebrews 9:11-15,12:28-29

This is Day 7 of this 40 Day Journey to Life Transformation. I hope you have been daily meditating on the daily scriptures that apply to a specific focus, fasting and writing in your journal. It takes discipline and getting out of our comfort zone to look at the “man or woman in the mirror” and to repent. God wants you to seek His face in intimate communion, consultation, and listening. He wants you to intentionally seek His heart and voice in everything that you do. He also wants us to obey His Word. During these 40 Days you should want and God wants to see transformation in our hearts, mindset and lifestyle.

The number 40 is a significant number. Biblically speaking 40 is a specific time period associated with a period of testing, trial, probation or chastisement. “The number 40 is a indication that God is ready to birth something new out of pain or challenge”. Kingdom Principles for Everyday Living by Stewart Perrilliat. It rained 40 days and nights , Moses was on the mountain with God for 40 days and nights, and the Israelites wandered for 40 years before they entered the Promised Land. Jesus fasted in the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness before He began His ministry. Believe with great expectation that this 40 Day Prayer Journey will develop a more intimate relationship with the Lord, a casting off of “old garments” and a renewed mind and heart which will result in transformation in your life.

Repent: Of professing a love for God without obeying His Word; of making excuses for not obeying His Word; of expecting blessing without obeying ; of persisting in known revealed sin.

Repent: Of serving without joy or unity of the Spirit with brothers and sisters in the body of Christ and at Messiah; of serving out of law and not of love and of serving with impure intentions, goals, and/or reasons.

Pray:
• Ask the Lord to forgive you for the ways you have ignored His Word and disobeyed and followed your own way or the ways of the world.
• Pray for grace from the Lord to obey His Word.
• Pray for yourself and the church to be filled with a love for the Word of God.
• Pray that believers will witness for Christ through their lives and words.
• Ask God what more can you do to serve our church and community.
• Pray for a fresh anointing to serve with joy, gladness, passion and power.
• Pray that our service would be God motivated, God centered and God ordained.
• Pray that the church will reach out on a greater level to the widows, poor and the less fortunate.

Day 6 of 40 Day Prayer Journey- Inquiring of the Lord – Life Transformation

I sought the Lord and He heard me24451_10151175680437283_1306356890_n

DAY 6 – February 18- Inquiring of the Lord
40 Day Prayer Journey to Life Transformation

If we really want life transformation and to speak out about the heart of God, then we must actually inquire of the Lord first!! We should expend extended time in His presence in “intimate consultation” ( Heal My Land: Journey to Transformation) until we truly understand what He is saying to you, to us, to the body of Christ. If we are to discover God’s plan for the transformation of each of us, our cities and the healing of the land we must inquire of him first.

Scriptures: Judges 20 ; Psalm 27: 4-5; Jeremiah 23:18 (NKJV); 2 Samuel 21:1 (NKJV)

Repent: Of not inquiring of the Lord regarding what He desires, or the direction He would have us to go; and of not inquiring of the Lord regarding instructions and strategies for ministry; of doing what we want first and only inquiring when we get into trouble.

Repent: Of the ways that you have made important decisions without first inquiring of the Lord.

Pray:• Worship the Lord who invites us into intimate consultation with Himself.
• Worship God as the only true source of knowledge.
• Confess to the Lord the ways you have neglected to inquire of Him, yet claim we are doing what He said do.
• Ask the Lord to teach you how to spend intimate time in His presence, growing in your ability to hear Him.
• Thank the Lord that in the name of Jesus you are welcome into His presence.
• Ask the Lord for wisdom and direction.
• Pray that the Lord will increase your ability to hear.
• Pray that God will teach you to ask Him for specific answers, and then give you the courage to wait for Him..
• Pray that government and spiritual leaders will inquire of the Lord about spiritual and practical issues affecting our city.
• Pray that God will reveal His plans and purposes for your city to those who seek Him with listening hearts.
• Pray for a desire to know the will of the Lord.
• Pray that for pastors and leaders will seek clarity in ministry by inquiring of the Lord in all things.

Each of us should be seeking the Lord through prayer, fasting, and repentance- a process of heart-searching response to the Lord’s desire to commune with you and the body of Christ in order to lead to life transformation and action to carry out His Kingdom purpose. Take the daily steps even if challenging or they take you out of your comfort zone. Step out with great expectation.

40 Day Prayer Journey by Grace for Life Transformation Day 3

I sought the Lord and He heard me24451_10151175680437283_1306356890_n

As mentioned yesterday on Day 2 of Lent, pursuing God during the Lenten Season in a 40 Day Prayer Journey By Grace for Life Transformation involves fasting and praying and a word we don’t like “repentance. Repentance is important to God. It is God’s design for healing and restoration, so we cannot view it as optional during this journey. ” See Reflection and Repentance During Lent. https://ladyofprayer.com/?p=1063.

So even if it’s uncomfortable, even painful if we are honest, continue to take the time to reflect on and pray about what you started yesterday. Let’s examine our lives and see how we measure up to His standard of repentance. You may even need to just meditate on and review the scriptures from yesterday posted in the above article.

DAY 3 – February 15 – Seeking the Lord with a Clean Heart

Scriptures: Deut. 4:39-40 ; 2 Chron. 7:12-16 ; Heb. 11:6 Psalm 66: 18-19 ; Mark 11: 25-26

Repent: Of not consistently seeking after the Lord to know Him, His ways, and His will. Repent of seeking after the ways and approval of man.

Repent: Of failing to forgive another and holding malice in your heart. Or repent if you know that you have offended or hurt someone.

Reflect: Is there any area in your life about which you need to release bitterness, or have refused to forgive someone or sinful areas which you need to release.

Receive: Forgiveness and ask for a sincere and diligent heart to know the Lord, to see His face and to walk with in communion.

Pray:
• Ask God to search your heart and to reveal to you any sin for which you need to seek forgiveness.
• For a deeper prayer relationship with Christ through prayer.
• Pray for your enemies and ask God to release you from any unforgiveness.
• Confess any sin that the Spirit brings to your attention.
• Forgive and pray for those who have offended you and hurt you.
• Thank God for His mercy and grace through repentance.
• Ask god to give you a fresh understanding of His character and His holiness.
• Pray for unity in the Spirit in our church family and for reconciliation where people are at odds.
• Pray that the gospel may reach, touch and renew the hearts and minds of people without hope in our world today.
• Intercede for family members, friends and neighbors that they may began to seek to know God and have a desire to walk and talk with Him.
• Pray for the community and our city to turn from wicked ways and to seek the Lord.
• Pray for those who are unemployed and those burdened by debt.

Reflection and Repentance During the Lenten Season

repentance

The Lenten Season (February 13 to March 30) is a time of repentance, self-examination, fasting and prayer in preparation for Resurrection Sunday (Easter). “Renewing our sense of who we really are before God is the core of the Lenten experience”. (Pastor Orville K.Littlejohn, my Pastor, “Our Focus for Ash Wednesday”). So today seek God with a repentant heart (See Joel 2: 12-24) and let us honestly search our hearts (Psalm 139:23-24). Here is an example of a prayer of repentance to help you get started in initiating self-examination , prayer and a spirit of repentance. Then we will examine what is repentance and why it is important to our prayer lives and our relationship with God. Tomorrow we will discuss fasting and prayer components that are involved in the Lenten Season. But for now let’s get our hearts and minds right.

<strong>A Prayer of Repentance>
Lord, I come humbly before You and ask you to cleanse my heart of my every sin. “Have mercy on me O, Lord according to your loving kindness and blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly of my iniquity and cleanse me of all of my sin. (Psalm 51:1-2) Lord create in me a clean heart. Please Lord renew a right spirit within me (Psalm 51:10-11). Forgive me for thoughts I have had, words I have spoken and things that I have done that are not pleasing in your sight and do not glorify you. Father, forgive me I pray for my sins of_______(state them)________________________. I confess it is a sin and truly repent of these acts, words and thoughts. ( 1 John 1:9; Psalm 32:5 Proverbs 28:13, Psalm 51:6, 10). Lord search the inwards hidden places of my heart and reveal my sin to me that I may not see. (Psalm 139: 23-24). I seek to repent of everything that You show me Lord. I confess my sins to you in the full realization that you are faithful and just to forgive me of all my sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness.( 1John 1:9) I know that my sins are against You and You only. Grant me a broken, willing spirit and a contrite heart so I can offer it to You (Psalm 51:1-4, Psalm. 51:12, Psalm 51:17).

Thank you Father. I desire to obey your commandments and statutes. I choose to stop my sinful ways and to turn to walk upright. Help me, Lord God to bring forth fruits that are worthy of repentance (Luke 3:8). Lord I want to live a righteous, pure and holy life through your power (Colossians 1:11). I am determined to walk in the Spirit and in your ways and walk away from my sins by the power of the Holy Ghost. Grant me a godly sorrow that is not just full of regret because of the consequences of sin but sorrow that leads to true repentance (2 Corinthians 7:9-10). Lord give me a tender heart that is sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit and the conviction of sin. Holy Spirit, thank You for convicting me of my sin. Forgive me for the ways I’ve ignored Your voice and quenched and grieved You. (John 16:8; Ephesians. 4:30; 1 Thessalonians 5:19; Romans. 8:1-2). Lord I praise you, Father, for your goodness that leads to repentance (Romans 2:4). Lord thank you for restoring my soul so that the times of refreshing my come (Acts 3:19). Amen.

It is important to note that a repentant heart is not limited to a special season or time of the year. If we want to have effective prayer lives which bring forth life transformation and healing of the land, repentance must become a part of our lifestyle. Despite the benefits of repentance, we are resistant to the thought of repentance. Repentance isn’t a popular word. Our culture encourages us to do whatever we want when we want. TV, music videos and movies very rarely show the consequences of our sins.

It is one thing to know that you have done something that is wrong . But it is another to be saddened and sorrowful about your actions and determine that you will turn away from that sin and never do the act again. To repent “I” or “we” must come to terms with and acknowledge that we have sinned and then turn away from such sinful behavior and be reconciled back to our loving Lord. Therefore, repentance is a change of mind that involves both a turning from sin and turning to God. Christ began his ministry with a call to repentance. (Mathew. 4:17). We must examine every attitude, every motive, every action and ever word of evil. Repentance means that you are deeply godly sorrowful and hurt about what you have done unto the Lord and that you are determined to do all that you can not to commit that sin again. “Repentance means we are sorry about our sin to the point of grief, and we have turned and walked away from it”. Stormie Omartian, “The Power of a Praying Woman” p. 40, Harvest House Publishers,(2002).

Meditate on the scriptures listed below and pray the focus points and what the Holy Ghost places on your heart.

Prayer Focus for February 14, 2013
– February 14- Repentance and Loving God

Scriptures: Deut. 6:1-9 Matt. 22:34-40 Psalm 139:23 Psalm 51 Psalm 66:18-19

Repent: Of not loving God with all of your heart, soul, and mind and of allowing other things to fill and occupy our lives.

Meditate, pray, and write down other areas for which you should repent.

Reflect on what way you want to improve your prayer life and to deepen your friendship with God.

Pray:
• For Christ to bring people near enough to God to experience the Father’s loving delight in His Son for people to love and follow Jesus.
• Pray for forgiveness for what you have done to others and how you have failed to obey God and to forgive others who have wounded you.
• For household salvation for friends and family.
• It is Christ’s eager desire that you know God by drawing near to Him. Open your life to God. Accept His invitation. He’s summoning you to seek His face.
• Pray for MEN – Pray that men will seek God and honor Him with an integrity that unites their lives in faithfulness, wisdom, and truth; that their vision of masculinity would be a Christ-like servant leadership in the family, church and world.
• Pray for God to strengthen your prayer life and deepen your relationship with him.
• Ask God to fill you with joy in his presence.
• Intercede for the church in our community to be filled with fresh love for God and to demonstrate His love to those around us-both in the church and among those who do not yet know Christ.

Pray More . Cry Out. Sound the Alarm.

574624_10151255301029528_1077693573_nwomen praying

Daily prayers will diminish your cares. More things are wrougt by prayer than this world knows. Alfred Lord Tenneyson.

Evening, and morning , and at noon, will I pray and cry aloud; and he shall hear my voice Psalm 55:17

Pray for household salvation for family, friends, your boss, co-workers and the next door neighbor you cannot stand. Pray for salvation for those who are lost and do not know Christ. Our prayers will cause the Spirit of God to draw them to Himself. In Revolution on Our Knees: 30 Days of Prayer for Neighbors and Nations by David and Kim Butts they urgently stress “Consider how many people are lost to the prince of darkness because no one has prayed that their lives would respond to a beckoning Father? I have no doubt that prayer is the front line strategy for missions. We may never know until heaven how many lives have been opened to receive Christ because of our prayers”.

Pray for the deliverance from violence that steals the lives of our children and families. In major cities our children and youth have suffered violence. We continue to pray for the children and teachers who lives were violently taken at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton , Connecticut. Pray for the mother in Chicago who has lost four sons to violence and death. Four sons ! You are devasted by one! Lord , we should be crying out like the mourning women in the Bible. In Jeremiah 9:17 it states”This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Consider now! Call for the wailing women to come; send for the most skillful of them”.

The children of Israel were about to be taken in bondage to Babylon. The prophet Jeremiah said send for the mourning women. They were to weep and wail and to mourn in sackcloth. Their purpose what to be an alarm system to wake up everybody around them. They were to call out, the devil is destroying us! Death is on its way! They were God’s warning shout to His people. These mouring women were to use the power of prayer and wailing before the Lord to destroy the power of Satan over God’s people by waking them up and calling them to a mourning of repentance. Today you- mother, sister, daughter or father can join in corporate prayer to open your mouth and cry out and pray against the evil of violence. Then when we hear the Lord’s direction, we can get up and put “feet on our prayers” to do what He tells us to do.

4this means war28055_4306505270865_69181861_n

What are you praying for today that is affecting our commuity and your household? Cry out. Sound the Alarm
