Launching Family Prayer

“Lord, restore the family altar in homes across America”, is the cry of one intercessor. Let’s Launch Family Prayer today. God loves your family and you. He established family and has a plan for each family member. We need to pray for our and with our families. One of the best things you and I can do for our families is to begin to teach our children and adults to pray in a way that grows hunger for God by seeking Him in prayer together.

In today’s world of busy schedules and Face book, cell phones and other digital distractions, “It’s hard for families to find time to eat dinner together, let alone pray together. Yet praying together deepens relationships, alleviates arguing and fighting, and strengthens family ties more than any single thing we can do”, states Cheryl Sacks, a national speaker and intercessor.

Launching Family Prayer

In the month of June let’s begin to launch a month-long campaign to help each family member jumpstart a lifetime of praying together and for one another.  I will be giving pointers on praying for men, fathers, parents and teaching children how to engage in family prayer, as well as specific prayer pointers and others for praying for the family. I will share a great example of a grandfather’s impact upon his grandchildren developing a prayer life this month after Father’s Day.

Minister Minetta Hare visionary and founder of the Global Missions Prayer Force has launched in the month of June “The Family Prayer Challenge”. Go to Face book and like the page and get notice of the daily prayer points as well. She is encouraging you to get a Prayer Journal to write the names of your family  members and providing a page for the directions you hear from the Lord about praying for each of the your family members.

Family Prayer Points: (Others will be provided this month for specific persons)

Honoring Fallen Soldiers

During this Memorial Day weekend, let’s take a moment to thank the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for this country and never came back home alive to their families. I thank every solider of the armed services for their sacrifice.

Thank the men and women who suffered the loss of limbs and health in service to this country. Pray for those who have served in our nation’s armed forces and who are serving today. A couple of years ago I watched 60 minutes as the show reflected on the heroism of our soldiers. It also exposed the many issues of mental, emotional and physical issues our veterans face, as well as homelessness. Pray for our wounded warriors that that will receive the proper care and benefits they deserve.

My father, Charlie Fegins, served at Pearl Harbor during World War II and was on the USS New Orleans when the attack occurred. He survived and came home. He was awarded a World War II Victory Medal.

.

Again I thank the men and women soldiers for their service and their sacrifice. Like Senator Carl Levin stated “it’s absolutely essential that we honor our commitment to provide them with the very best care and support available. They’ve fought for us, and we need to keep fighting for them.” Senator Levin further stated “Around the world our troops are carrying out a broad array of challenging and dangerous missions. Wherever they are stationed, our troops and their families deserve our gratitude for their selfless service and their sacrifices”.

As you enjoy this holiday with friends and family take time to give thanks to God for our veterans who have served our country and for those on active duty who serve today. To our men and women in harm’s way, our prayers are with you. Pray for the protection of our soldiers serving around the world and at home in the United States. Pray as follows:

  • Pray for those who have lost a loved one in battle. These grieving families have paid the ultimate price. Ask that God’s comfort would be upon them in a special way .
    • Pray for our wounded service members and their families. Pray for mental and emotional healing as well as physical healing. Pray they obtain the necessary medical and other services they need and deserve.
    • Pray for divine protection and guidance for our armed forces. Ask God to intercede for military chaplains and loved ones at home.
    • Pray for the courageous troops, and their families, who are actively serving our country each day , not only at bases around the world, but also here within our borders. Our soldiers daily place themselves in harm’s way in order to defend the way of life we hold dear as well.
    • Pray the Lord’s protection will go before them.by Linda Fegins 2018

Pray for Unity In America

Scripture tells us again and again that our fervent prayer is effective. Our loving God responds to His children’s earnest pleas in mighty ways that avail much, and ultimately determine the course of history.

At this crucial time for our nation, we can do nothing more important than pray.
Let us pray corporately and individually over our families, government etc so that we can glorify God and heal the land and our families. Let us not take it for granted for the freedom to call out loud and worship the Lo

The National Day of prayer focus is Government, Church, Military, Family, Education, Media, and Business. God is in control of this nation. Let us not take for granted this day of prayer, designated by Congress, signed into law by the President of the United States. Former President Obama signed the same  when he  was the leader of our nation as well as other Presidents. We should be praising and praying to the Lord for this nation every day in light of the freedom we enjoy and the present evils we observe  that threaten the peace of our nation and the community freely.

“Prayer brings people together. Prayer builds bridges between opposing persons and even political parties. Prayer reminds us that we are created in God’s image and He desires for us to represent Him everywhere we go. Prayer brings UNITY. In 2018, our theme will be Pray for America – UNITY, based upon Ephesians 4:3 which challenges us to mobilize unified public prayer for America, “Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”Rev.Floyd

Our hope is that individuals, churches, and spiritual leaders in America, will humble ourselves and unify in prevailing prayer for unity across ethnic and racial barriers, political allegiances and tax brackets and acknowledge that we all are the creation  of God who made us and we need a move of God in America. We can come together in clear agreement that this is our greatest need. We can become a visible union, standing together in prayer.

In this turbulent time of open racism, rumors of wars and aggression, and troubled communities and cites we need to go before the Lord to seek through prayer, “peaceful and quiet lives” – for ourselves, our families, our neighbors and friends and our nation.

Below is the National Prayer for “Unity” that we can pray together in our churches , homes and other public  places. Pray.

Our Dear Heavenly Father, while we come to You in complete humility, we also come to You with boldness in the authoritative name of Your One and Only Son, Jesus Christ, who is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. In Jesus’ name, fill us now with Your Holy Spirit and lead us as we pray in Jesus’ name for America.

Oh God, we are burdened for our nation today. We turn from the sins that we have committed against your Word and your Name. We turn away from our contentious words and ways toward one another that has led us to division and polarization. We turn away from our disrespect and lack of dignity toward each other, and we turn away from our continual devaluation of all human life from the womb until death in this world. We also turn away from and refuse to participate in skepticism, criticism, and cynicism in our nation. We turn away from anything that divides us, and we run toward the gospel of Jesus Christ that is the only thing that has the power to unite us together.

Lord, in this critical hour in our nation, we pray for unity in America. Only You can bring unity, harmony, and oneness in America. As your Word calls us in Ephesians 4:3, “Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace”, we ask You to empower us to make every effort to live in unity, to call for unity, and to forward unity in America continually.

We pray for the churches in America to unify in Jesus Christ and to pray as one unified spiritual family for America. May Your Church pray for America passionately, perpetually, privately, and publicly.

We pray for God’s power to unify families, workplaces, communities, and cities in America. By Your Spirit, lead us to forgiveness, reconciliation, healing, and unity.

We pray for people of all ethnicities and races in America to come together as one, living in peace and unity together. Oh Lord, because each of us is created in Your image, please give us the courage to stand against all racial and ethnic division, denouncing it as evil and sinful, while simultaneously coming together in unity with all persons knowing this is God’s will for us.

We pray in unity for the security of our nation. We ask You to preserve the United States of America from the forces of evil that are threatening our lives and our future. God, please guard all persons in public and private settings from anyone or anything that desires to harm us or take our lives. Our future is in Your hands.

We agree clearly, unite visibly, and pray extraordinarily for the next Great Spiritual Awakening in America. Oh Lord, wake up Your church spiritually and convict Your people to agree clearly, unite visibly, and pray extraordinarily until the next Great Spiritual Awakening occurs in our generation.

Oh God, we stand together upon Your words in Psalm 133:1, “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony.” Through Jesus’ name and by the Holy Spirit’s power, we pray for all Americans to unify and to live together in unity.

In the mighty and majestic name of Jesus Christ who is the Only Savior and the Only Hope in this world, we pray. Amen.

Overcomer Praise God for Mondays

Praise God for Mondays. Tomorrow April 23, 2018 Monday. Look forward to it because you are an overcomer. It’s Marvelous Manifestation Monday. Thank God for Monday. You are blessed. Thank God for new opportunities, a new start,……. Embrace it. Believe and make declarations that God is working out your day and the week; that God is working in your favor and that Jesus can fix “whatever it is “ for you.

Why be depressed when Monday rolls around? Don’t focus on the negatives. Look at the positives. Look at the fact that God daily loads us up with benefits beginning with Mondays!!! You are alive. Just that is a blessing! God will work in your favor, and He is your sun and shield. Psalm 5:12 Have a new outlook on life! Keep on praying. God is working it out. Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17. Speak the Word. Listen. Prayer is a dialogue. Believe. Trust.”Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matt.7:7

So overcomers here is a prayer for you by Tiece L. King

Overcomer!

Father, Your Word says that I am an overcomer because of the blood of the Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the word of my testimony—that in Jesus, all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and I have been given fullness in Christ and share in His authority over every spiritual power and authority! But I confess that I do not feel like an overcomer, and I often give in to the influence of this world instead of submitting to Christ.

O God, save me from myself! May I be full of Your Spirit and Your mighty power—the power of the resurrection! Teach me and use me, that I might be one who sees strongholds demolished in my life and help others to walk in freedom. Thank You, Father, that because I belong to You in Christ Jesus, You surround me with Your presence—that You are a wall of fi re around me.

You, O Lord, are my refuge and my strength. In every situation and struggle, You are with me. I will not be afraid for my trust is in Your name. Like Joshua, may I be confident that You are with me and will never leave or forsake me. By Your Spirit at work in me make me to be strong and courageous, to not be afraid or discouraged, but always mindful that You are with me wherever I go. Use me to take back ground that the enemy has stolen. Help me to be self-controlled and alert, knowing that the enemy of my soul is prowling, looking for an opportune moment.

In Jesus’ name, strengthen me to submit to You, resist the enemy, and to stand firm in my faith! Give me, I pray, Your perspective of the situations I face and may I live victoriously, as a conqueror, because of Jesus and His love for me. May I be full of faith and Your Word, for I belong to You, Lord Jesus, and You have overcome the world!

Pondering and Praying the Word

The book of Proverbs is full of God’s wisdom, knowledge and understanding.  Proverbs instructs, “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life” (4:23). The heart is a metaphor for our inner being, the essence of who I really am. It is the dwelling place of my emotions, attitudes and intentions. I am called to be holy, a holy temple in the Lord, according to Ephesians 2:13-22, with Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone. This holiness is a result or by-product of my passion for the Lord, in pondering and praying the Word in passionate prayer. My love and passion for God and His Word awakens my heart and increases my awareness of His presence, restoring the fear of the Lord and my hunger and thirst for more of Him.

I encourage you to press on in pondering and praying the Word of God in passionate prayer, as you walk in the Spirit by faith, not according to the world, but by the work of the Holy Spirit, in the will of God the Father, in and through the ways of the Lord Jesus Christ, with the Word of God in your heart and mind, as it is in heaven upon the earth.

Almighty God, Your Word is filled with all wisdom, knowledge and understanding.  As I pray through all that You have said to me, help me to apply it to my life and to obediently allow Your truth to sink deeply into my heart.  May it transform me from the inside out so that my life will reflect Your kingdom to others.

Prayer Points

Praise God, the one whose name is great among the nations (Mal. 1:11). Give thanks that the good news is being preached in so many countries today and that it has been proclaimed to you, too. Confess anything in your life which hinders your own witness to the saving grace of Christ. Commit yourself to regular prayer support of missionaries whom you know. Ask God to open doors for their ministries.

Your family can be a missionary family right in your neighborhood! Ask for opportunities for your family to be a witness among your neighbors and friends. (And then be ready when God answers!)

Rejoice! Jesus is A Way Maker!

Rejoice during this Holy Week. God is a Way Maker. When Jesus decided to march forward to death the cross, He was making a way for you and me to have eternal life and an abundant life. Glory! In John 14:6 Jesus declared Himself to be the way. “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” Jesus died on a cross for sins He didn’t commit so God could turn His back on His Son for three days to pay the penalty for our sins. Then Jesus rose from the dead securing a place for all of humanity in heaven if we will confess with our mouth Jesus is Lord [Matthew 26-28; Mark 12-16; Luke 22-24; John 13-21 and Romans 10:9]. He is a Way Maker.

God is a good God. REJOICE! Praise His name! Hopefully during the 40 Day Prayer journey you have repented from the things that displease God. I pray that you have striven to rise spiritually in study of the Word, in love for God and others,in faith, in walking in the Spirit and have increased in your personal and corporate prayer life.

Praise His name that we know that we can be victorious as we celebrate Holy week with a heart of thanksgiving. Praise God for Victory.

Rejoice! God has made a way for you! He is working out every situation. Hold on and praise your way through it anyhow.  Keep you eyes on the “Way Maker”. He is able. He has a way. Surrender to Him so He can implement it. Cry out to the Way Maker today. He is able! Rise Up spiritually by worshiping God in the beauty of His holiness and greatness.

Renew by Mind

Renew My Mind

Father God, You who make all things new through the power of the Holy Spirit, renew my mind, I pray! May I not conform to the things of this world, but instead may I be continually transformed by the renewing of my mind with Your Word.

Lord in many ways I have been lazy and undisciplined in regards to the use of my mind. Forgive me, I pray, and renew my mind. I lay before you my use of my computer and technology, my TV and DVD viewing, the things I read . . . (Pause and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you.)

I have entertained philosophies of the world that are contrary to Your Word. Lord, forgive me and renew my mind. I lay before you the way that I have rationalized behavior or condoned values of this world. . . (Pause and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you.)

I have watered down the truth of Your Word in order to condone my sin. Lord forgive me and renew my mind. I lay before you the excuses that I have made for my thoughts, attitudes, and actions that are contrary to Your Word . . . (Pause and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you.)

I have allowed fear and anxious thoughts to overwhelm me. Lord, forgive me and renew my mind and make my heart steadfast. I choose now to cast all of my cares and fears onto You and ask that Your peace be poured out on me . . . (Pause and allow the Holy Spirit

to speak to you.)

Give me, I pray, a fresh hunger to study Your Word, that I might be equipped for every good work. And Father, in a world of watered-down truth, empty philosophies, and hopelessness, empower me by Your Spirit to be prepared to answer everyone who asks me to give the reason for the hope that I have. May Jesus be seen clearly in my daily living. Strengthen my faith, Father, for Your Word says that if I do not stand firm in my faith I will not stand at all. O God, help me to stand. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prayer Points

Praise God for being perfectly just in all his works. Thank him for loving righteousness and justice (Ps. 33:5). Confess any ungodly bias you harbor toward any people. Commit yourself to viewing others with a loving, Christlike attitude. Ask God to help you value justice more highly in all relationships of life.

Pray for the uprooting of governments which oppress their citizens and withhold justice from them. Ask that justice will “roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing

Celebrate the Women in Your Life

This is Women’s History Month. We have a great history. Today let’s think about and pray for the women in our lives who have influenced our lives even in small but impactful, endearing and /or life changing ways. The woman may have influence you to be or to strive to become a successful entrepreneur. She may have shown you the loving example of what is true friendship or is a woman who models the message of Christ. She may be a marketplace influencer in her niche or mountain God has assigned her.

This woman may be someone who has poured into you and inspires you to follow your dreams with action. You love this woman’s spirit of excellence. She may have a kind loving spirit, she may be someone who inspires you to run on or who in love and with the right spirit tells you the truth and stretches you to excellence.

This woman may be someone who is unassuming, but is there when you need her, can be trusted and will step in when needed. She is the woman who has a praying spirit and is a faithful intercessor that bears fruit in the Kingdom. You may admire the way she manages her household, raises her children and loves her family. The fact that she is a faithful steward and a Doer of the Word in action inspires you. She may be the woman who always support you, knows all about you, yet loves you anyway, yet tells you the truth and what is right to do, and lets you know you can do all things.

You may have little contact with this woman, but you take notice of her spirit of excellence and what she is doing and you respect her. You may even just want to encourage this woman to keep the faith and not to grow weary in well doing.

Take action: 1. Pray for her, her business and family. 2. Tell her why and how you admire her or take note of her 3. Ask her what you can do to help her,

On the first day of Women’s History Month PRAY.

Pray for families, children, women and against human traffking(modern slavery) . Pray that women will be honored in their unique, God created glory; that every kind of injustice toward women will cease; for pornography to be stopped; for protection from sexual violence; that hope be renewed for the beauty of marriage and children; that single women will lay hold of God’s full purpose in their lives

Praying About Senseless Tragedies

Senseless tragedies have occurred around the nation and the globe. Shootings and killings at our schools , churches and in our community have broken my heart, pricked my heart and raised some controlled righteous anger , as it has others also. The shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Broward, Florida was said to have been the 18 shooting at a school. Lord have mercy. Pray for the families.

Lord we need thee and we call upon you. Psalm 145:18. Then after we pray and continue to pray, arise let us take righteous action to stop and address this evil.

We want to pray proactively  using the Word of God as a source of our prayer. So how can we pray when such senseless tragedies arise. Below are prayer points  from an article written by   Sandra Higley and Lani Hinkle , two great intercessors.

Praying in the Middle of Senseless Tragedies By Sandra Higley and Lani Hinkle. copyright 1999

When we hear about yet another random act of violence, our first response is usually to pray away the pain or pray that this will never happen again. But how can we pray beyond the fear and shock, beyond the most obvious needs, for the issues of the Kingdom?

Hopefully, some of the following points will be a springboard for your prayers in the wake of tragedies that defy human understanding and are becoming more and more frequent.

Praise

Though it is difficult, start with praise. Focus on God’s character.

  • Praise God that He is sovereign, that He has ultimate control over it all, and that nothing takes Him by surprise (Is. 45:5-7).

Petition/Intercession

  • Ask God to use this situation to bring unprecedented spiritual openness to people affected by the tragedy, and ask Him to show His face to them.
  • Ask God to bless the ministry that will be thrust upon the church(es) or community affected by the tragedy. Ask Him to empower them with a powerful witness when they are called upon to speak about or reflect on the situation.
  • Ask God to stand against the enemy’s attempts to make families experience unresolved anger or guilt over the loss of loved ones.
  • Ask God to focus the minds of public officials on the need for prayer and to provide people who will continue to pray for the situation.
  • Ask God to equip leaders who will be called upon to mentor and minister to people in the aftermath of tragedy (Heb. 13:20-21).
  • Ask God—for yourself and others—for a passion and love for Christ that drives out fear (1 Jn. 4:18).

Thanksgiving

  • Thank God that the enemy has made a tactical error since persecution/trial has always strengthened the Church, and that God will use for good what Satan has intended for harm (Gen. 50:20-21).
  • Thank God for the people who will be drawn to seek God’s face because the overwhelming nature of the tragedy leaves them nowhere else to turn (Jon. 2:1-9).
  • Thank God for a vivid reminder of your own mortality and vulnerability, asking Him to prepare your heart and spirit for a faithful response when you are faced with tragedy personally.
  • In the case of martyrs: thank God for the blood of martyred victims, whose number will reveal God’s ultimate glory (see Rev. 6:9).

Broken Hearts: Shootings at Schools

My heart is broken over the shootings in Florida- of babies  ( yes those teens are someone’s baby) being sent to school to study, to laugh, …. and parents believing that their child is reasonably safe. Now as a result of evil there are broken hearts. Hurting and angry hearts. Lord have mercy.

Let us pray to stay the hand of shootings and violence in our nation This is the 18th school shooting. Lord we need thee and we call upon you. Psalm 145:18. Then after we pray and continue to pray, arise let us take righteous action to stop and address this evil.

Pray for the families at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Broward County, Florida.

We want to pray proactively and using the Word of God as a source of our prayer. See how one pastor suggest we pray against the  violence.

5 Ways Christians Should Pray Following a Mass Shooting Dr. Jeremy Roberts, Pastor

The mass school shooting that took place in South Florida was a tragic act of violence that shows demonic activity is alive. This shooting was purely from Satan. It was anti-God. It was evil. We have a desperate need for God’s peace. (If you’ve been away from the news cycle, here are the details.)

Now is the time to turn to God in prayer. I encourage you to pray through several Psalms as you process what happened at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Broward County, Florida.

How Should You Pray, in Response to the Shooting?

  1. Pray for God’s peace and comfort to fall upon all affected. (Pray Psalm 86:17)

Show me a sign of your favor, that those who hate me may see and be put to shame because you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

  1. Pray that this trend of school and church shootings would cease, via the power of God and wisdom of police and security experts. (Pray Psalm 11:5)

The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.

  1. Pray that American politicians would unite in the midst of this tragedy and work together to lead a safer country instead of fighting and blaming. Pray that politicians would not seek to destroy their “political enemies” in the heat of this proverbial summer. (Pray Psalm 32:3-4)

For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah

  1. Pray that Christians would respond to this in compassionate ways instead of using this event to merely push opinions of gun control. (Pray Psalm 116:5)

Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; our God is merciful.

  1. Pray for a sweeping revival to come to America. We must come back to God. (Pray Psalm 9:9)

The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
