Kick Satan Out of Your House

eliz maxresdefault

DAY 19 – February 28th – Kick Satan Out of Your House and Day 20

Scriptures: Romans 4; Proverbs 18:13

Elizabeth ( from the War Room) realizes that she needs to kick Satan out of her house. She quotes James 4:7, “Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee.” It is a procedure with a promise. Jesus quoted Scripture against Satan’s temptations in the wilderness and Satan’s schemes were unsuccessful.

What tricks, threats, or treats has Satan used to tempt you? Ask God to forgive you if you have followed the tempter or even fallen into a pit of sin and destruction. Ask God to lift you up and set you firmly back on His path for His glory. Choose and write down verses you will use to deflect and defeat the devil next time he comes prowling around your life (Romans 4).*(Kathy Branzell)

Pray:

  • Pray that you will grow in the knowledge of God’s Word for every aspect of your life.
  • Pray that the Father gives you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. Ephesians 1:17
  • Pray that parents will study the Word, come to Sunday School and began to talk to their children about the Word of God every day.
  • Seek God for the sick: There are many names on our sick list – Please pray for each name on that list and focus on three in particular for the rest of the week.
  • Pray for persons with mental illness, who are suicidal and/or depressed.

DAY 20 – February 29 Distractions

Scriptures: 1 Peter 5:6–9; Proverbs 18:13

distraction13887

Satan does not give up. Even in Jesus’ ministry after the three temptations in the wilderness, Satan continued to use demons and other people to be a distraction or disruption—or even try to detour Jesus from God’s plan by the people’s desire to make Jesus their earthly King. Jesus as an earthly king sounds like a good idea that could yield some good, temporary benefits to the Jews in the first century; yet God’s plan was best—the eternal defeat of sin and death and redemption of the created with their Creator for all eternity.

Write down ways that you have been detoured or distracted into settling for “good” instead of God’s best. Pray for God to show you areas of your life that you need to release in order to have open hands (and time) to receive what He wants to give you and where He wants to grow you (1 Peter 5:6–9).*

Pray:

  • Pray that the Father heals ________ by the power of the Word. Thank the Lord for sending Jesus to bear our sins in His body so that by His wounds ___might be healed. (Psalm 107:20; 1 Peter 2:24).
  • Pray for persons who are mentally ill, depressed or suicidal for deliverance, healing and sound minds that recognize the voice of Jesus.
  • Pray that God will provide for the financial resources to meet the financial needs of the sick.
  • Pray for the caregivers of the sick and shut in.
  • Pray for outreach ministries.

Search Me Lord. I Won’t Complain, but Praise YOU.

search-me DAY 17 – February 26th – Strengths: Search Me Lord and Day 18 Praise God: Don’t Complain

Scriptures:   2 Corinthians 12:9–10; Psalm 81:8

Every strategy includes identifying your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT). It helps you to take a critical and complete look at what you have and what is needed for success (victory) to occur. God is your strength, and He has given you many talents, gifts, resources, and opportunities. Write down these strengths. Ask at least three people who know you well to tell you what they have seen and experienced as your strengths. Write down their responses and keep them/post them with your list.

Be honest about your weaknesses; pray and seek guidance from God and others when needed. Pray for opportunities to use but not abuse your training. Never manipulate people or projects; that is Satan’s game and gain. Know your threats—recognize the real enemy, temptations, and tricks you tend to fall for. Fortify your offense and defense in your War Room. We will continue to build on each of these points throughout this battle plan (2 Corinthians 12:9–10).*(Kathy Branzell)

The season of Lent should be a time of intense discipline and devotion. Obviously the word discipline is close to the word disciple. We are disciples or followers of Christ. We become like Christ through disciplines such as Bible Study, prayer, and ministry. Oh by the way, do you have your journal, Bible and a listening ear on this journey?

Pray:

  • For you to be obedient to the call to be a witness to others on your job, at the store and everywhere and to know what is your individual mandate.
  • Pray that family members and church members will have a strong and growing love for God and for others.
  • Pray that the church would walk in love for one another without hypocrisy and out of a pure heart.
  • Pray that the love of Christ will permeate you , believers in Christ and all churches so that the world would see and believe that God loves them and sent His Son so that they might have everlasting life and live in His love through salvation.
  • Pray that God will forgive us, as a nation for the mistreatment of Native Americans and other ethnic groups; for God’s fullest blessing upon their families and lands, that the tribes will find their healing justice and highest dignity as a people in Christ; that the gospel is proclaimed with love to them.

DAY 18 – February 27th – Don’t Complain: Praise and Pray.

Scriptures: 2 Timothy 2:22–26; 2 Chronicles 20:15

 complain praise 913375e67ad21e57eccc666ee929d3c8

Miss Clara points out to Elizabeth that Satan is the enemy, not her husband—and that all of her complaining brings curses and not blessing or healing to her marriage. Complaining is the praise music of hell. Satan loves to hear us gripe and grumble.

On the other hand, Satan hates to hear us pray. He can deceive, distract, and discourage us all he wants until we turn to God to fight for us—and then Satan is defeated! God has no tolerance for complaining; it does not express faith.

If you want to fight the good fight, it is time to turn our eyes on Jesus and profess our faith in Him. Praise expresses the awe-inducing, unchanging, mighty attributes of God. As we profess that He is Almighty, we perceive that our problems are not big and bad after all.

Write down some attributes of God from Scripture and pray them to remind yourself and the enemy that God is stronger and sovereign. Write down blessings to pray over the people connected to your prayer strategy. Remember, asking God to reveal anything they are doing in deceit is a blessing as long as you pray repentance and redemption over them as well (2 Timothy 2:22–26).*(Kathy Branzell)

Bible study and prayer are essential to the life of every Christian. Intentionally read and study the scriptures and listen to God’s words. Fill your mind and soul with His stories and His truths. Spend more time in prayer. Learn to pray on your knees or prostrate on the floor. Confess your sins. Ask God to reveal to you areas of your life that need His transformation. Commit to deeper Bible study and times of prayer.

Pray:

  • Pray for those who are blinded by sin that the scales will be removed from their eyes, ears and their minds are illumined with the gospel. Pray for unbelievers to accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
  • Pray that you and members of your church and believers everywhere would praise the Lord with their whole heart and grow in personal and corporate prayer.
  • Pray for the Lord to add to the church daily those who are being saved. (Acts 2:4)
  • Pray for opportunities for you and other believers to witness and invite people to the Lord and/or to the church. Colossians 4:2-4.
  • Pray for college students.

Victory Doesn’t Happen By Accident

prayer-the-power-of-victory

DAY 15 – February 24th – Victory Doesn’t Happen By Accident

Scriptures: Psalm 20; Deuteronomy 28:1-2

Victory does not happen by accident.”

Victory can only happen with tenacious training, scrupulous strategy and persistent practice. We do not stumble into victory, we battle our way to victory. “You want to be a prayer warrior. Declare it and then do the necessary workpray-fight-win. We are warriors, prayer warriors—the most lethal and feared warriors in God’s army. Satan shutters when we start to pray; he flees as the name of Jesus rolls off our lips.

If you want victory to come to your life, your church, your family, your community and nation then you have to be deliberate in prayer. Prayer is a habit, not happenstance. There is no such thing as a coincidence.

Write down the answers to the following questions: What does victory look like? Where do you need to advance and from which direction? Who is your enemy and how does your enemy fight? How will you know when the battle is won—when the prayer is answered?

You have already identified 1–3 areas that need a prayer strategy; now write down your specific requests, characteristics, changes, etc. that will define what “victory” will look like in each of those areas. God may change your heart or definition of success along the way, but as you pour out the desires of your heart for the areas that need God’s triumphal touch, and write down what victory looks like so you will know when it is time to celebrate (Ps. 20). *(Kathy Branzell)

victory prayer brings_MG_2185

Pray:

  • Pray to God about the areas in which you struggle and in which you need to have victory.
  • Pray for women and children to be delivered from the evils of human trafficking.
  • Pray for the elderly for their protection for elderly abuse and health.
  • Pray for care givers for rest and their health as they care for others.
  • For unity among churches and that there will be an increase in participation of true corporate prayer and seek to gather together for corporate prayer as well as to open our mouths to praise and pray to the Lord in unity.
  • For a fresh passion for worship among the believers and that the walls of division created by   denominations, personal preferences and styles which do not honor God be torn down.
    • Fathers: that fathers will look to God as the ultimate spiritual head of their household, serving and caring for their families; that God will instill a vision for wholesome, supportive fatherhood among the fathers of the city. Pray that absentee fathers would change their lifestyles to nurture their wives and children. Pray that children will see the character of the heavenly Father in the lives of their dads.

Trust the Lord and Seek Him.

raise up

DAY 13 – February 22nd – Trust the Lord and Seek Him
Scriptures: Psalms 31:1–8; Psalms 42:1-2,8

Miss Clara prays, “Raise up those who call upon Your Name, and love you and trust You and will seek You!”

Write down, “Lord, in Your love and authority You beckon me to call upon Your Name, thank You! Prayer is our time together in conversation that makes our relationship stronger and more intimate in my life. I love You because ____________; I trust You because____________, and I will seek You first, every day and in all circumstances.

Write down and pray all the ways that you commit to seek Him. Seek Him first thing every morning; seek Him in the good and worse of circumstances, in His creation, in crisis, in decisions and the demands of life. Pledge to seek Him first, instead of fear, worry, or selfish ambition (Ps. 31:1–8).*

Pray:

• Pray that by the Word and the Holy Ghost your prayer life with God will deepen and increase such that you hear God’s voice when he gives you an assignment and will obey.
• Pray for yourself or _____ to trust fully in the Lord knowing that He knows the times and the seasons and is able to accomplish that which concerns you today.
• Pray for unity and cooperation among the ministries and leaders.
• Pray for Michigan leaders and Governor Snyder.
• Sick People: For God’s healing touch to be upon the sick of the community; that they will be comforted; that they will grow in character as God walks them through the ordeal; that God will provide for their financial needs; for their care givers.

Surrender. Listen. Obey. Submission.

TOP SIGN Surrender Trust.jpg

DAY 11 – February 20th – Surrender. Listen. Obey. Submission
Scriptures: Matthew 6:5–15; John 8:47

Miss Clara tells Elizabeth, “You need to plead with God to do only what He do; then you need to get out of the way and let Him do it!”

After you surrender your life to the leadership and Lordship of Jesus, you position yourself to listen and obey His commands. Submission invites God into every area of your life to both prune and protect so that we will bear much fruit to His glory. Submission wants and waits for His Kingdom to come and will be done. Submission also leaves room for God to move in the areas/relationships that we might be tempted to manipulate or mess up. Submission makes spaces for God’s wrath or healing as He sees fit. Remember from the movie what Mandy (Beth Moore) said was her “Mama’s definition of submission”? It was, “Being willing to duck so God can. . . .”

So while you are ducking, just fall on down to those knees and pray. Submit to His decisions and direction. Write down a sentence or a declaration of submission and refer to it daily. Pledge to obey, or to get out of His way, and always pray (Matt 6:5–15).*

surrender pictureimages

Pray:

• Ask God to search your heart and to reveal to you any sin for which you need to seek forgiveness.
• Intercede for family members, friends and neighbors that they may began to seek to know God and have a desire to walk and talk with Him.
• Pray for Families Gen. 28:14 – For God centered relationships among family members; for families broken by divorce to be healed; that Christ’s forgiveness would occur among family members; that parents will teach their children in God’s ways of living and that families would pray together.
• Pray for the community and our city to turn from wicked ways and to seek the Lord
• Pray for those who are unemployed and those burdened by debt.

Something to Act On: Write down what you want to lay aside and to stop doing. Now write what spiritual things you want to rise toward thinking and walking in to please God and to be more like Jesus. Take time to listen.

Surrender! Just Do It.

surrender hqdefault

DAY 10 – February 19th – Surrender!
Scriptures: Philippians 2:1–11; Romans 8:16

Miss Clara says, “There is not room for you and God on the throne of your heart. It’s either Him or you. You have to step down! If you want victory, you have to surrender first.”

Surrender seems backwards and counterproductive to our earthly mindset of success and victory. But in Christ, the key to success is to surrender, seek Him, and submit to Him daily.

Hopefully you have brought your Bible, journal and a teachable spirit to this time with the Lord. The Lenten season is a time discipline , study of the Word of God and prayer. Spend more time in prayer. Ask God to reveal to you areas of your life that need His transformation.

Write down the “rights” and “ wrong” thinking that you need to surrender to God, and profess His Lordship over you. Ask forgiveness where you have placed yourself on the throne of your heart and life; as judge of others, or trying to justifying the breaking of His Word to get what you thought you “deserved” (Phil 2:1–11).*

Pray:

• Ask God to search your heart and to reveal to you any sin for which you need to seek forgiveness.
• Pray that the love of Christ will compel believers everywhere to share the gospel with others in love.
• Pray for a deeper relationship with Christ through prayer and to help you pray consistently.
• Pray for Youth – Psalm 144:12 – that they will commit themselves to Christ; for moral strength to choose wisely; for older mentors; for friendships with those who are following Jesus, for good relationships and open communication with parents.
• Pray for the United States Supreme Court Justices, the state and local judicial system .

Raise Them Up Lord! War Room Prayer Journey

raise upDAY 9 – February 18th – Raise Them Up Lord! -An Army of Intercessors-
Scriptures: Ephesians 6:10–18; Luke 18:1

Miss Clara cried out in her powerful prayer, “Lord, we need an army of believers who will stand on Your Word above all else. Lord, call us to battle! Raise them up, Lord! Raise them up!”

Before an army can be shipped into battle, they have to go through boot camp or some sort of training. God needs to train us up in order to raise us up, as we volunteer to be soldiers in His army.Raise them up, Lord!

The season of Lent should be a time of intense discipline and devotion. Obviously the word discipline is close to the word disciple. We are disciples or followers of Christ. We become like Christ through disciplines such as Bible Study, prayer, and ministry. Oh by the way , do you have your journal ,Bible, and a listening ear on this journey?

Prepare for battle.

Bible study and prayer are essential to the life of every Christian. Intentionally read the Gospels and relive Christ’s life on earth as a human being. Listen to His words. Fill your mind and soul with His stories and His truths. Spend more time in prayer. Learn to pray on your knees or prostrate on the floor. Confess your sins. Ask God to reveal to you areas of your life that need His transformation. Commit 40 days to deeper Bible study and longer times of prayer. Study God’s Word.

word00-end-time-bible-prophecy-word-of-god-is-alive

Worship music is a strong motivator, but always remember your “sword”—the Word of God. There may be times we are tempted to “lean on our own understanding,” instead of standing on the Word of God.
Human experiences and education are good, but God’s Word is best. God uses our education and experience to help us grow as the branches abiding in Him, the Vine. His Word is the root that keeps us steadfast and the sap that feeds and strengthens us. We must look at our experiences and education through the lens of God’s Word; it is our “Christian worldview.”*

Write down a few things that you believe that determine the way you behave; find them in Scripture and write down each verse that is the foundation of this belief you stand on above all else. If you cannot substantiate your belief with Scripture then you need to replace it with truth. Be careful, Satan is sneaky. He likes to twist and blur the Word to make it sound like something else that appeals to our flesh.

pray-the-word

Write down the Scriptures that give you clear wisdom about God’s will and ways and do not waver! Then open your ears to hear Him calling you to battle; be prepared and armor up, He is raising up an army and you have just been recruited (Eph. 6:10–18).* (War Room excerpt comes from Kathy Branzell allowed permission only)

Pray

• Pray that the cycles of violence and revenge be ended. Pray that we repent as a community and nation from hatred, fear, racism and anger.
• Pray for the spirit of repentance to sweep across the city of Detroit or your city.
• Pray that the grace of God would impact the world through you as you follow Jesus through study of the Word and deeper prayer in humble obedience and repentance.ray for elderly persons. Pray that God’s strength and peace would be poured out on every one who is advanced in years. That they may be honored; that they may be cared for; that they may live to see their prayers answered; that loneliness be banished in lasting friendships and family bonds; that meaningful service be found.
• Pray for the City of Flint, the families and the children.

Something to Act On: Write down all the areas in your life where you want to experience spiritual growth.

40 Day War Room Prayer Journey

family prayer prayer.jpg__700x460_q95

Dear family and friends,
Starting this Wednesday (Ash Wednesday), many Christians will begin preparing their hearts and minds for Resurrection Sunday better known as Easter through the season of Lent. I look forward to you and your family joining me, my friends , family and my church family in participating in our 40 Day Prayer Journey, “ War Room Journey: Praying, Listening to the Lord And Living the Life”. 1 Timothy 2:1-4; Philippians 4:6-7; Deuteronomy 30:20; Galatians 2:20, from February 10, 2016 through March 26, 2016.
Step into this forty (40) day prayer journey of repenting and praying toward the desires and promises of God to enable us to grow in our spiritual walk. Let each of us as individuals and as a corporate body grow in grace, in service and deed, in love for God and each other and into a lifestyle of individual and corporate prayer.
It is a time to repent, recall, refresh and renew our commitment to communing with Christ, talking to him but also listening to hear what He has to say to each of us individually and corporately. God wants a personal love relationship with you—with us. A relationship involves a two way conversation. Prayer is a dialogue not a monologue. God is not silent. He speaks to us through His Word and in other ways. Jesus was a listener. He said “Whatever I say is what the Father has told me to say” (John 12:50). Like Jesus, we must listen. God is longing for us to pay attention. Let’s all stop and listen.
Hopefully you had the wonderful opportunity to watch the movie “War Room”. God wants us to become effective prayer intercessors and warriors to carry out His Kingdom purpose. We will be praying and study the war room strategies addressed in the movie. Days 8 though 36 will address effective prayer. Why not ask a loved one to join you on this prayer journey? Let’s all continue with one accord in prayer and supplication (Acts 1:14a) during this Lenten season.

.
Love and pray fervently,
Linda Fegins, The Prayer Leader

40 Day War Room Prayer Journey

“The War Room Journey: Praying, Listening to the Lord And Living the Life-
1 Timothy 2: 1-4; Philippines 4:6-7; Deuteronomy. 30:20; Galatians 2:20

The Lenten Season (February 10 through March 26, 2016) is a time of repentance, self-examination, fasting and prayer in preparation for Resurrection Sunday (Easter). “Renewing your sense of who you really are before God is the core of the Lenten experience” states Pastor Littlejohn. Today seek God with a repentant heart (See Joel 2: 12-24) and honestly search your heart (Psalm 139:23-24). As you pray through the 40 Days of Prayer Journey allow the Lord to examine your life thoroughly.

The first 2 days we will reflect on Repentance. The next five days we will focus on listening to the Lord. Thereafter we will pray, meditate and listen to hear from God about war room prayer strategies (Days 8 to 35) to enable us to commune with God and to grow and strengthen our prayer life and relationship with God.

CHILD PRAY 1959449_653238951414762_1351806071_n

DAY 1 – Feb 10th – Ash Wednesday the Beginning of Lent
Scriptures: Psalm 139: 23-24; 1 John 1:9; Psalm 32:5; Acts 3:19

Devotion: No one is perfect. But we all can surrender our lives to God and let Him work through us. It is important that each of us possess a clean heart. This is required as a part of God’s call for you to get right before Him for a closer relationship with Him, to enable you to do the work He has called you to do and to receive the blessings He has in store for you.

To do that you must examine yourself carefully as Pastor Littlejohn stated. You have to confess your sin and repent. You must be brave enough to say
“Lord, show me what is in my heart, soul, mind and spirit and life that shouldn’t be there. Convict me where I am missing the mark. Tear down my arrogance, pride, fear and insecurities and help me to see the truth about myself, life and my circumstances. Expose me to myself, Lord and help me to take it. Enable me to correct my ways.” Prayer by Stormie Omartian.
Now, you say the prayer above, or another for yourself.

Confess: Confess to God any sins of thoughts or actions that He shows you.
Repent: Of all the things that you have confessed.
Meditate, pray, and write down other areas for which you should repent.

Reflect on repentance and on what way you want to improve in your prayer life to deepen your relationship and friendship with God to enable you to rise in the spiritual things of God. Sit still before the Lord and listen. Let the Lord know you are listening and you are sincerely seeking His face. Psalm 42: 1-2

Pray:

• Confess the ways that you have been complacent about sin and not appalled that His Holy name is defiled.
• Confess any sin that the Spirit brings to your attention.
• Ask God to search your heart and life and to reveal to you any sin you may need to deal with.
• Repentance means to change your mind and be determined not to do the sin again. It means to turn and walk the other way and that we are sorry about our sin to the point of grief. Ask God to open your eyes, ears and heart to feel real sadness and sorrow about your sin and to turn your heart and mind to repent. Thank Him for the gift of repentance.
• Pray for God to strengthen your prayer life and deepen your relationship with Him.
.
 Something to Act On: Write your own prayer of repentance to the Lord.
