DAY 3- February 12th – Can You Hear God?
Scriptures: Genesis. 3:8–9; 1 Samuel. 3:1; Amos 8:11–13

This is the third day of our 40 Day Prayer Journey, “War Room Journey: Praying, Listening to the Lord and Living the Life”. 1 Timothy 2:1-4; Philippians 4:6-7; Deuteronomy 30:20; Galatians 2:20, from February 10, 2016 through March 26, 2016. On the first day of this prayer journey I encouraged you to use a journal or notebook to write your reflections, what the Lord is speaking to you when you stop to listen, your prayers and/or prayer requests. In Day 2 we continued praying to God about our individual repentance and suggested ways you could fast during this Season of Lent.

Make entries in your journal each day as led by the Holy Spirit. Make sure you take time to listen to how God speaks to you as that is part of the journey focus. We know that God speaks us through the Word. Yet the same God who spoke with Adam and Eve in the garden desires to speak to [us in our] crisis time, in times of change, challenge, and celebration. The key to hearing God’s voice is taking the time to listen to Him.” The question is not, “Will God speak to me?” The question is, “Are you taking the time to listen?” Reflect on the fact that God wants to commune with you and actually longs to talk to you. Your Father longs to communicate. The God who defines Himself as “the Word” loves you. He tells you to “Come and I will show you great and many things thou does not know.” Jeremiah 33:3 Conversation is not something we have to coax Him into. It is His idea, and He thrives on it.

Pray:

• For Christ to bring people near enough to God to experience the Father’s loving delight in His Son for people to love and follow Jesus.
• Ask God to stir a continual heart of reverence, obedience, and repentance in you that you will listen to His voice.
• Ask the Lord to free people in your life from Satan’s trap and then lead them to repent.
• Pray for children of incarcerated parents.
• Pray for those incarcerated in prison.
• Ask God for an ear to hear (Rev. 2:7) Ask Him to teach you how to listen better.
