DAY 4- February 13th – God Still Speaks Today—Can You Hear?
Scriptures: Psalm 46:1; John 10:2–4, 27; Hebrews 3:15:

Greetings to you on this Day 4 of the War Room Prayer Journey. I hope you brought your journal, bible and a listening ear. I am glad you are here. More importantly the Lord is glad that you want to hear Him. We are leading up to what Miss Clara our War Room Boot Camp Leader, had to say about prayer in Day 8 but we needed to be ready for that boot camp by having repentant hearts and worshipful attitudes, and now training our ears and spirit to listen to and to hear from God.

From the very first words of Scripture, in the book of Genesis we learn God spoke to people to set his plans in motion. God spoke to Adam and Eve; He spoke to Noah throughout Genesis 6–9. He spoke to—and through—Abraham, Moses, the Prophets, and many others throughout the Old Testament. In the New Testament God came down and spoke to us in the flesh and we heard the voice of Jesus.( John 1:1, 14) Then God continued His conversation when he sent the gift of the Holy Spirit to live in us after Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. The same God who spoke to Adam and Eve in the garden desires to speak to you in your quiet time, in your crisis time, in times of change, challenge and celebration. The key to hearing God’s voice is taking the time to listen to Him.

Again as I stated in Day 3, the question is not, “Will God speak to me?” The question is, “Are you taking the time to listen?”

God has a voice; and his sheep hear His voice.”Hearing His voice means that a thought, a word, an insight comes to us .If we have a real relationship with Jesus and are sensitive to the Spirit “we learn that it is the Spirit of revelation talking to us (Ephesians 1:17”, Remember what we hear will always line of with the Word of God.

Pray:
• Confess any sin that you know stands between you and God and my keep you from hearing the Lord.
• Ask the Lord to give you a tender heart that is sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit and the conviction of sin.
• Ask God for an “ear to hear” Rev 2:7 Ask Him to teach you how to listen better.
• Pray that the Word of God will be revered, studied, meditated upon by you in a greater consistent way and by those at your church.
• Pray that believers in your community will seek to listen to the Lord instead of talking all the time.
Exercise: Describe your communication with God. Is it a monologue or dialogue? How much time do you spend listening versus talking?
Hope you join with me for Day 5.
